Today's Writing Effort I had animal chores today. The chickens (we have three roosters currently) have figured out that if they hop the fence and get in with the ducks and geese that they get to partake in their treats as well. Sneaky chickens.
The bunnies are doing well for the most part. I'm noticing a positive change in their poop which translates to healthier bunnies. Hopefully that will mean less trips up to the Sacrifice Tree for me. I'm the only one who deals with the dead bunnies. Jenny can't stomach it, and James is too busy.
Thumper is improving more and more every day. Today was the last day of his eye ointment for the little infection he'd gotten. Once he's plumped up again, he can go back to making babies.
Bastion came by today to help James with some rearranging he wanted to do in the loft. They were at it most of the day with a short trip to town for lunch. When Bastion arrived, I measured his head for the ear warmer I'm making for him. Ethan was supposed to come over today, but he didn't and so I texted him to let him know to contact his Dad about Yule.
I had to take the Volkswagen to Midas to get the wiper blades looked at. The passenger side blade stopped working, according to James, and I had them check the air pressure in the tires too because the warning light was coming on. Both turned out to be easy fixes and they didn't even charge me for anything.
The funny thing was that I had gotten almost all the way to town when I realized that I was driving the Mini Cooper, not the Volkswagen. Doh! So, I rushed home and swapped cars and I was late to my appointment. I called when I was speeding home and the guy I spoke to thought it was funny, but said that it would be okay and that I didn't need to reschedule. Thank goodness.
When Bastion left, James and I ate dinner and then had our date. Mostly we just hung out in my room and talked and watched videos.
Then I did evening animal chores, which mainly consists of giving everyone more water. The ducks and geese have heated water bowls, but the chickens and bunnies do not, so the chickens and bunnies get hot water in their bowls so that it won't freeze too fast and they can have water in the night and in the morning.
Also, Sappho made me a little rainbow keychain that was kind of adorable. When she's older, I would love to teach her to crochet.
