Who Needs Sleep?

Today's Writing Effort

I didn't get any crochet done today. I was just too busy. I got animal feed from Murdoch's, and cat food from PetSmart, and human food from Walmart and the Orange Street Food Farm, which has the best pasta sauce I've ever had in my life. It's FANTASTIC!

Then I checked the mail and enlisted James to help me get everything into the house when I got home. He was kind enough to carry in the feed bags for me because getting down the stairs is hard enough with my stupid broken toe, it would be even more difficult hauling a 50 pound bag of feed.

Then it was time to vacuum the upstairs because there was an accident involving spilled dry coffee grounds. Also, there was a metric ton of dog hair on the floor up there.

I did get to help a tiny bit with giving Thumper a bath. It was mostly James and Sappho. We're still trying to get his back feet cleaned off really well to assess if he's got any sores that need tending. But he's lively and curious and likes the toys that I got for him at PetSmart.

We also got real snow ... finally. I mean, I don't like snow, but every day that we didn't have it meant that fire season next summer might be really bad. I don't like that either.

But I got to spend some time with James in the evening, which is just the time that we get, despite trying other schedules. This is just the only one that even remotely works, even though it means that neither one of us gets the amount of sleep we probably should.
