Today's Writing Effort I had to get the snow tires put on the Volkswagen and at Les Schwab they always say to show up right when they open if you want to get in the queue. But I had to do animal chores, get the fire going well enough to be up to temperature when I got home, feed all the pets (dogs and cats) and I had to take the trash down to the bottom of the hill. And I had to get gas for the car since James left it almost on empty. *Le Sigh*
I talked to him on the phone in the evening and he had a scheduling snafu and he, Jenny, and Sappho won't be home until Friday. So that means not just one extra day of animal chores, but two.
When I was in town getting the tires done, which I had to have done at Tire Rama instead because Les Schwab was too booked up, I had to get some things from Home Depot and one of them was a 5-outlet splitter for the heated water bowls outside for the ducks/geese/chickens. Yeah, we currently have three roosters. We had nine or ten before. Most of them are in the freezer now. Anyway, the chickens weren't supposed to live this long, but since they're still here, I didn't want their water bowl to freeze solid, which it almost did last night. I don't remember if this particular bowl is still working, but if it's not, then I'm going to have to go back to Murdoch's to get a new one that does. I was there today and almost did it then, but I didn't want to spend the money on a new bowl if I didn't have to.
The snow isn't sticking around as much since we had a bit of a sunny day the other day, but it's cold as fuck out still.
Bunny Heather is almost 100% and she'll be done with her medication tomorrow night. I'll put her back out in the rabbitry on Friday morning to give her one more night inside.
