Snowpocalypse 2023

Today's Writing Effort

Bastion's shift got canceled tonight, which was great as we got a fuck ton of snow overnight. At least six inches. And one of the metal poles in Gen Pop bent in half. Two of the professional fence extenders bent too. I spent most of my day shaking snow off of the netting over the flock area. The netting over the area where the bunny hutches are going to be is completely impassable. Almost the whole section of netting is collapsed. It's a good thing that there weren't bunny hutches in there with bunnies in them because they would probably all have died in what could only be called an avalanche of snow.

I helped dig out my car and Jenny's car while James did the plowing. He had a little accident and dinged Jenny's car pretty bad with the truck. Her car is still drivable, and it didn't break the back lights, but it's going to need to go to the body shop. *Le Sigh*

AJ and Corrin came over to babysit Sappho so that James and Jenny could have a date before Jenny and Sappho left for Dallas for a week, which they're doing tomorrow morning. I managed to get each of them, and Bastion too, to help me shake the rest of the snow off of the netting over the flock area. They got a bunch done while I babysat Sappho, but later on when I did the evening watering, Corrin helped me get the rest of it done.

I think I may have convinced James that we need to abandon the whole netting idea, even though it was a lot of work to put it up. If we need a topper to keep out predators of all varieties, then we'll just invest in a professional topper. I think that would be the better idea and I've got money now that we could use to help pay for it.
