Daly Jazz & The Amina Figarova Sextet

Today's Writing Effort

I was so pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to do animal care this morning. Jenny had already done it. I did take care of our seedlings though. Some of them aren't doing so well and I don't know why, but others seem to be thriving. I don't have a green thumb, so I don't know if I'm the best person to be taking care of them. But I do my best.

Anyway, I texted Dale (the Handyman) to see if he could install Bastion's pet door while he was here today in addition to fixing Ginger's gate so that it swings out and not in. That should help when it comes to taking care of her.

I got to talk to oldfellowbunyip for a little bit on the phone this morning, mostly about some plans we have tomorrow with Gina.

I did my Biolife donation. Meh.

I picked up maxheadwidth's watch from the jewelers. We opted for them not to fix it because they would have to replace the band and James didn't want to do that. Maybe I can figure out how to fix the band myself. I'm pretty crafty. And then it just needs a new battery.

I got home and the Best Buy Geek Squad guys came back out to put in the part for the washing machine that they had ordered in for us. Now we have a working, non-leaking, washing machine again. Yay! Also, Dale did his thing with the fence and Bastion's pet door and everything was done by 3:00pm. Super yay! Of course I had to pick Ethan up from school, but we got back just as Dale was finishing up, so that worked out great. AJ had some things to do with Isabella in regards to studying, and her mom drove him home later in the evening.

The big thing that happened today was an intimate gathering at a friend's home where there was a famous international jazz group, the Amina Figarova Sextet playing. The event was called Daly Jazz and has been going on for years. I was so glad to get to go to this. I got all dolled up in a previously unworn dress and some killer heels. I felt very posh. The music was wonderful and James' sister was there quite by chance.

After the intermission, James and Jenny took a little walk and when they returned, after a couple of songs in the second half, we left for the night. We were there from 7:00pm-10:00pm, so that was a good amount of time. And before the concert started, there was a lot of scrumptious food, so I felt that I had a wonderful time. I even got to talk to the drummer for a hot minute and the piano player/sextet leader too. That was pretty cool in my opinion.

And when we got home, I did a little work on my computer and then went to bed upstairs with James.
