Today's Writing Effort I got behind schedule almost from the get go. Jenny texted from the road that the chicks and geese needed to be fed because she spent her morning retrieving an escaped rabbit (one of the Silvers). Normally this wouldn't have been a big deal, but I was just draggin' ass and it took longer than expected to feed and water all of the animals, including the chickens and bunnies and cats. Then I tried at least a little bit to tidy up the kitchen and didn't get as much done as I would have liked and threw some towels in the wash. When I got ready to go to town, I had to make a decision. I could do my Biolife donation early and then only get to spend a couple of hours with
oldfellowbunyip, or I could do my donation after dropping Ethan off at home and spend double that time with Dan. I chose the latter option.
So I got to spend almost four hours with him. We did some pretty awesome Snuggles and watched some TV and YouTube videos and he got us pizza and fed me chocolate cake and we cuddled some more and it was really what I needed today.
The last couple of days have been draining for some reason that I just haven't figured out. I've been getting a decent amount of sleep and eating pretty well and I've been getting some moderate exercise, so I just don't know why I've been so exhausted.
I had to leave to pick up Ethan from school, but we drove straight home and I did a couple of small things like put the wash in the dryer and a couple of other things that may or may not have included petting my cats. I can neither confirm nor deny such rumors. :)
Then I went to Biolife and did my donation. It was meh. But I'm getting $10.00 more a week this month with an $80.00 bonus on my eighth donation of the month. That's $400.00. And while I used to make that in a week at PeaceHealth, it's not bad for someone who can't seem to find a good job that doesn't make her miserable.
maxheadwidth cooked dinner with Jenny pinch hitting on it a little bit and after dinner we had a family meeting about chores and got that hammered out, though Bastion seems to think it's okay to just do the "regular" dishes and leave everything else for the next person (most likely me). That's not fair to everyone else and I hope that James can work his magic and convince Bastion to behave in a manner conducive to household harmony.
When the meeting was done, I did the dishes. It took about an hour, even with the work I had done in the morning to rinse off the dishes that were there from last night. I was going to watch a movie with Ethan since he has tomorrow off of school because of his birthday, but it just got too late and so I promised him we would watch one tomorrow, just us two.
Bastion and Ethan and AJ had been helping James clean out the wood room, which had become filled with random crap during the remodeling and that seemed like it took most of the evening. I did my part before dinner by loading up the bed of the truck with things that needed to go up to the library. We still haven't found the wallpaper, but hopefully Deb was able to re-order it for us. And speaking of the remodeling, the Contractors seem to have just picked up and left a day or two ago and I have no idea when they're coming back. It's kind of pissing me off the way they keep taking off for Bozeman and leaving us in the lurch. I just want them to finish the damned job already. *Grumble*
At least I got to stay the night with James tonight. That makes everything feel much better.
