Today's Writing Effort I talked some with
maxheadwidth yesterday and am trying to get the cats on a later feeding schedule so that I don't have to get up so early. I managed to get them to wait until roughly 6:30am. He thinks I should try a sort of "cold turkey" approach and just pick a good time and make them wait. I think that will make for some very irregular mornings for me for a period of time. I don't know that I'm fond of that idea, but perhaps I'll give it a try. It would be nice to sleep uninterrupted, or at least as much so as I can with so many living beings in one house.
The bunnies and chickens are doing well. I checked the chicks, which are in Ethan's room right now, to make sure they're doing well. Apparently with newborn chicks, you have to make sure they don't have poop clogging up their butts or they'll get backed up and basically explode inside. It's not pretty from what I understand. So a couple of times a day today I checked the chicks to see if they needed some help in that area. So far, so good.
After getting ready for my day, I drove James into the gym. He'd been having a couple of days of shaky brain health, so getting his exercise and medication today was super important. I dropped him off and went to have a brunch at Ruby's Café. When I was done, I went back to the gym and waited in the car. I did a lot of reading and I must have missed James when he left because when he texted me later to pick him up, he was at the nearby Starbucks. He's totally a ninja. :)
We went home and each did our own thing for a little while. Jenny had done some impressive cleaning while we were gone and James and I just did a little bit more. Then she made dinner and we all ate together (James, Jenny, Bastion, and I). After dinner, I did the dishes and James did some organizing on the second floor, while I did some on the ground floor. The first floor was mostly done.
Then Bastion vacuumed the ground floor and mopped the first floor. I cleaned the bathroom on the first floor and did some laundry. All in all, it was a pretty productive evening.
Oh, and we got pet doors for Jenny's room and mine too, and we're getting them installed by Dale the Handyman on Thursday, so that will mean I can keep my door closed at night without locking the cats in or out. Yay!
James came to see me before he went to sleep with Jenny, which was a really nice way to fall asleep. Let's hope that the cats (mostly Venus) let me sleep longer than 6:30am tomorrow.
EDIT:
Here's some music for all you peeps.
