Today's Writing Effort I got up at 6:00am as usual, but today was not a usual day. I took care of the animals and got cleaned up and dressed, though I didn't get to have breakfast. The kitchen was a mess anyway because we still don't really have water to the kitchen.
maxheadwidth is going to have to deal with the Well Pump Service while I am gone. But James got up shortly after I did so that he could go into town with me. I got all my last minute things packed, though I forgot my blanket and pillow for the bus ride back. That's going to kind of suck. Oh well. James dropped me off at Biolife and I did my donation. I earned $70.00 today because of bonuses and coupons. Yay! Considering how expensive things are in Bellingham, that, and the money that James gave me, might last me the whole trip. Maybe.
After my donation, I waited for about thirty minutes for
priapussy and Justin to come pick me up. Then I got most of my money out of the ATM at Target. It would only do twenty dollar bills, so I had to leave $10.00 on the card. I think I can still spend it, but it becomes awkward to split the payment for something between two cards.
Then we left town. I saw a bald eagle on the way out of town, after we had been on the road for a little while. After a bit, I got tired and fell asleep in the back seat. Jory and Justin were listening to an audio book by Laurell K. Hamilton, but I wasn't that invested in it and put in my headphones to listen to music while I slept.
I woke up a few times when we stopped or when the boys wanted a beverage out of the cooler that I was resting my head against. Then we got lunch at McDonald's in Ellensburg. It was really late for food, but everyone was starving. The only things I had eaten all day were a muffin at Biolife prior to my donation, and a few chips and a mini candy bar. Not exactly nutritious.
After Ellensburg, I was pretty much awake. I had gotten food and soda and I was good for the rest of the trip more or less. We stopped a few more times for gas or potty breaks. During one, Jory got a little testy. I had used the bathroom at an IHOP, but Jory declined to use it for reasons unknown and we needed to find a different bathroom for him to use. Thankfully there was a Tully's Coffee across the street that did the trick. We were in Issaquah.
Then it was basically a straight shot to Bellingham and when we got to Jory and Justin's place, we unloaded the car and had a few moments to rest up and decompress and then we went out to dinner at
The Thai House, which has the most wonderful Thai food ever.
After we were done and back at the house, we unpacked out things and I got settled. I talked to Dan on the phone for a little while and then I got to talk to James for a few minutes. Then I did some work on my computer and went to a well deserved rest.
I miss my family and my fur babies and part of me can't wait to go home.
