Costume Party

Today's Writing Effort

Since I didn't get to bed last night until very late due to picking up AJ at work, I was not in the best frame of mind when Venus woke me up this morning at 6:30am. But I got the cats, chickens, and bunnies fed and let out for the day. Then I went back to bed and slept until 10:00am and it felt really good. I regret the time that wasn't productive, but there's not much I can do when I'm exhausted.

After I got up, I had breakfast and puttered around a little bit. Then I found out that everyone was going to a Halloween thing at Big Sky Breakout. No one had told me about it, but I got invited along, so I went out to the shop and found my witch costume and took a quick shower to get ready. We left at around 12:30pm and stayed for about an hour. We did a scavenger hunt and participated in a costume contest and got some food from a food truck parked outside the event. maxheadwidth was dressed as "One-Punch Man" from the anime of the same name. Jenny was "Larry the Cable Guy". AJ's costume was missing, so he came as a Photographer. Ethan was a Space Cowboy. Bastion was some sort of Masked Pirate I think. I was a Witch.

Then I took AJ to work and drove to Pet Smart to get cat food. After I was done, I went home, though I did go through the Popeye's drive through for some tea. I couldn't help myself.

I started some laundry and changed out of my costume and got to spend a little time on my computer trying to upload my Halloween playlist to my phone. That got interrupted when James asked if I would like to read/study with him and since Jenny was in his room for some reason, we did it in my room. It was really nice to get to spend some quiet time with him and to help him get some time to study uninterrupted.

Then James had to go pick up Miko and Victory from Mariah's house. I don't know why we were taking the kids overnight, but whatever. They came back and we all had dinner. The kids were loud and in everyone's business most of the night. They were pretending to be cats, which is cute until they came into my room and bugged me with loud meows and other rambunctious behavior. Let's say that I wasn't getting much of anything accomplished except finishing the laundry I had started earlier in the day.

But eventually they had to go to bed up in James' room and I got to do some writing and whatnot before going to pick up AJ at work. Sadly, with the kids up in James' room, that meant that neither Jenny nor I got to sleep next to him. The kids were on futons on the floor that I set up for them, but that many people in a room is just ... uncomfortable.

EDIT:
Well apparently Jenny had no qualms about sleeping upstairs with James and the two little kids. *Le Sigh* I guess I missed out on my night with James for nothing.
