Today's Writing Effort
I didn't feel like I got a lot accomplished today. There was no water while the Contractors worked on the cistern system, so I couldn't wash dishes or take a shower. I did manage to get my desk, small dresser, and bench boxes into the house from the shop and the garage with help from Ethan and AJ. And just when I was going to start putting things together, we had to leave with Jenny to go meet maxheadwidth at the gym. Then we drove out to Kitty and Travis' house to pick up some costumes. We were supposed to go to Mariah's house because her god-daughter, Victory, was having a birthday party.
Travis helped us pick out costumes and Bastion just kind of grumped around the living room because we had disturbed his slumber. It was after noon.
Jenny was a bee. I was a Viking. James was a sort of Venetian Masque wearing Dandy. AJ was wearing an inflatable unicorn, so that it looked like he was riding it. Ethan was Grumpy Bear.
Then we drove to Best Buy to get the last bit of Victory's present and to a Wing joint for some food, and then to Mariah's house. I wrapped the box in the back seat of Jenny's car before we went inside.
I was pretty miserable there. I am every time I have to spend time there. It's cramped and full of crap and I hate that woman with the fire of a thousand suns and I am only ever there as moral support for James. I didn't even get cake because we had to leave to go to game before they got to the cake. *Le Sigh*
Jenny drove us to the truck, but James couldn't seem to find his keys and he thought that he left them at Mariah's house, so Jenny drove us to Dan and Gina's place which wasn't too far away before she went to work.
Game was super fun. And I really like getting to see Dan and Gina and Marc. My character is super fun to play and I get really into it. Everyone but Marc got food from UberEats. I got what James got because I was super hungry. All I'd had today was little bits of this and that during the day and that was no good for me.
We ended up quitting early by about an hour, though I don't know why. I think maybe Marc wasn't quite in the right head space to play because of something that had happened earlier in the day. And James was watching the time because we had to go pick up Ethan and AJ from Mariah's house before heading home. I think everyone was willing and ready to keep playing, but Dan called it for the night and he's the boss, so that was that. Still, it was the best part of my day.
Gina gave James and I a ride back to the truck and James did find his keys, so we drove back to Mariah's house and it took forever to get the boys ready to go and for James to have a private chat with Mariah about whatever. Then AJ drove us home. He always wants to drive the truck, but maybe he won't be so keen about it when he starts to have to pay for gas for that beast of a truck.
When we got home, I got to play with the cats a little bit and we had water, so I did the dishes. I contemplated washing my hair, but I was confident that I would be able to get up before the Contractors just in case they had to turn it off again for some reason.
I didn't get to see much of James, but I did get to give him a hug before he turned in for the night with Jenny. I understand that she doesn't have anywhere else to sleep, but when it was reversed, he would spend nights with her in her room and then other nights with me in his room and I don't know why he doesn't spend at least one night with me in my room. I miss sleeping next to him.
