Surprising Sort Of Day

Today's Writing Effort

Last night, maxheadwidth was very snuggly, which is somewhat unusual. We usually don't crowd each other in bed, but it was kind of nice. And we woke up enough for a little bit of Adult Fun Playtime in the middle of the night and then went back to sleep. There was lots of spooning.

This morning I got up to make sure that the kids were up and that they were ready for school and Jenny was up too, so I went back to bed for a little bit longer. And then James and I had round two. Last night and the morning was full of surprises.

I stayed home for the day and it wasn't too long after I woke up that I discovered one of the new guys (Jake) was sanding the walls in the study and getting white dust on everything that was still there and it was floating up into the loft and getting all over my stuff. So I asked him if we could pack up the last of the stuff in the study or cover it or something so that it didn't get dirty and he stopped and got some of the other guys long enough to pack up everything and take it out to the shop. I took all of my things and put them in my room and then I packed up everything from the loft that I could and either took it to the shop or put it away in desks or in James' room.

Of course James' room has to be packed up too so that they can start working on his room next and so while James was in town at the gym and doing errands, I packed up his closet. I said he could keep his clothes (pants, shirts, gym clothes, socks, and underwear) in my room for a while and I hung up his dress clothes in my closet. I'm not in a screaming hurry to get my stuff unpacked.

Though I was hopeful that Justin or one of the Contractors could help affix my headboard to my bed frame today, though that didn't happen. *Le Sigh*

I got a hold of Shani today to arrange a way to get the car on Friday so that I can go visit my brothers and it was a rather tense conversation. We couldn't seem to find a way to do it and so I said I would try to find a way into town before my shift on Friday to pick up the car. And I tried to confide in her about AJ wanting to borrow the car as soon as he gets his license and some of my work problems and it apparently sort of freaked her out that I was being so inconvenienced. That wasn't what I meant to do at all. *Le Sigh*

Apparently, she called James and said that on Wednesday she would just return the car for good and find a way to deal with the one she has which isn't really all that safe to drive. Part of me feels horrible and part of me is glad that we're getting the car back and I can start to be more useful again. Besides, I really don't like driving the truck.

So when James got back from town, he and I talked about the car and all of this and how it's been impacting me. I thought I've been doing pretty well, but I have to admit that I've been a little stressed out lately and with this work thing tacked on, it's getting harder to be upbeat.

So James did something else that surprised me. He said he wants to transfer the car to my name. He's basically giving me the car. I can't even believe it. I don't know what to say. It's wonderful and at the same time way too much.

After our talk, we moved some boxes to my room and to the shop. James, Bastion, and Ethan borrowed my room for study time and I finished up with taking stuff to the shop before I joined them. Then Jenny came home and we all needed to get out of the house for a little bit and went to HuHot for dinner and then to pick up a chicken coop at this place on West Broadway. But the guy said that he only accepts check and cash. So we weren't able to take it home with us. However, the guy said that he could deliver it and pick up a check upon delivery. So Jenny left him her number and our address and said she would meet him at the bottom of the hill to show him the way up to our place.

After that, we went to Dairy Queen to get ice cream and then went home. I cleaned the kitchen and then I got to hang out with AJ for a little bit in my room, talking about some things that have been bothering him lately before he went to his room to read for a little bit.

James took a little time in the evening to go see Shani at her workplace and make sure she's okay. And then he and I got to spend one last night together in his room before it gets torn apart and remade.
