High Drama And Crisis Averted

Today's Writing Effort

I didn't really sleep well last night. I was too upset. I had freaky dreams too, where I was a college student again and couldn't find where my class was supposed to be and I was dating a much older Russian guy. Don't ask me what it means because I don't really have a clue. maxheadwidth did his morning Liturgy and then took AJ to the gym with him. I tried to get a little more rest before I finally just gave it up and got out of bed. I went to go write something on my computer and realized that my first hard drive was showing up on my computer. So I checked the newer one to make sure it had enough space on it and I copied everything from my first hard drive onto the second one. It took most of the day. I also copied the documents and pictures to my laptop as an additional backup.

I bought my first external hard drive way back in 2011 and bought my second one in March of this year. And I just bought my third one today. I plan on keeping everything but the TV shows on my second hard drive, with backups to my laptop &/or desktop, and just keep the TV shows on the third hard drive. They're not as vital to my sanity as my writing and my photographs. But I want to get the family photos printed out at WalGreens or someplace like that ASAP. They're too precious to trust to digital formats alone. As for the first hard drive, I think it's time to retire it. I can't trust it anymore. It's had a good run at over six years old. But now it's time for it to go to a Farm Upstate, where it can play with the other computer bits and bobs.

After getting the data transfer going, I put some laundry in the washer and got ready to take the truck into town to meet James and AJ for lunch. James was lending Shani the car again for her Sunday and Monday shifts at work with the theory that we would get the car back on Tuesday morning.

Jenny had to do some stuff before going to work in the afternoon, so she declined to join us. :(

We met at the Starbucks near the Fuel Fitness and then went to get lunch at the Good Food Store. After a delicious lunch, we drove out to Target to return the workout clothes that I had gotten for James that didn't quite work for him and also to get AJ some back to school stuff because the kids start school on 08/29/2017. Thankfully when school starts again, Bastion is going to be going to Hellgate and he'll take the bus with AJ and the only one I'll need to drive to school proper is Ethan. We got what we needed at Target, including some replacement workout clothes for James, and then went to return the rabbit hutches that Jenny had bought at Murdock's because she found some different ones that she liked better.

Then we only had one stop left, which was a hardware store. We thought we could get everything we needed at the Eastgate Ace Hardware on the way home, but they didn't have one of the things we needed. So we had to go back out to Reserve Street to the Home Depot instead. *Le Sigh* James went in to get the one thing we needed and AJ and I sat in the truck listening to Writing Excuses.

Then it was finally time to go home.

Jenny had gotten everything cooked and ready for dinner and left instructions for us before she went to work. We three ate with the Contractors and then went our separate ways. I started to clean up the kitchen and put away the leftovers. Then I went to go fold the laundry because Jenny had put it into the dryer for me. But when I was in the middle of it, James came down and asked if I could come upstairs and talk to him for a little bit. So I finished up and went upstairs, distributing clean laundry as I went along.

When I got upstairs, we hugged and I thought things were going to go in a more sexy direction, but he was in a bit of a state. He'd had an argument with Shani via text and he was really upset about it and it spilled over into stuff about Mariah because they're very similar individuals and the content of the argument was definitely a trigger for him. We sat on the bed and talked for hours, well, he did most of the talking.

Then, when he was feeling better, we went out to get some other stuff done around the house. I finished cleaning up the kitchen and came upstairs to do some work on my computer. But James wanted to have me hang out with him a little more. This time things were a lot better and we did get to have some Adult Fun Playtime.

When we were done, we went to get James something else to eat and we watched a little TV and then it was time for his evening Liturgy and for bedtime. It was his night with Jenny, but I think there will probably be a few nights with Jenny since her sister is going to come visit next week and will be staying with Jenny in her room, so no sleepovers for James for a few days.
