Getting Back On The Horse

Today's Writing Effort

I had to wake up super early in order to get to work by 8:00am. But curiously, maxheadwidth drove instead of having me do it. Maybe it just didn't occur to him that early in the morning. I don't know. Anyway, I had an important decision to make and it weighed on me all day. I had needed Sunday 04/02/2017 off work to attend the James & Jenny Birthday Bash that was being held here at the new house. It was really important to me to attend. But I was scheduled to work until 9:00pm. Since I had gotten the job at ORI, and I was filling out the New Hire Paperwork on Monday, I had planned on putting in my two week notice today, but if I couldn't get someone to cover my shift on Sunday, I was just going to quit. I didn't want to do that. It's not proper. But by the end of the work day, Vanessa had agreed to switch her cashier shift for a courtesy clerk shift and stay later in the evening and I really appreciated that. I gave Nick the note I had written on my lunch break and all was right with my world. My tenure at Albertsons was coming to a close and I was more than happy to put that part of my work history in the past.

After work, I got a ride with Gina, Dan, and Marc. We stopped at my place to drop off my rent check and then we went out to the house for game night. I have missed game night fiercely. It's also really great to just see everyone and get to hang out. Jenny made James and I dinner and it was, of course, delicious. Then after game was over and the crew left, James, Jenny, and I all stood around and talked about all sorts of stuff. It was really nice.

Then it was time for bed. All in all, I think it was a very satisfying day. I just hope that this new job is a turning point for me. I hope that it is something better that will allow me to help my family more in ways I wasn't able to before.
