How 2009 is shaping up...

Well, January is well and truly on it's way to rushing to a close. I have finished my swimming teaching and I don't head back to the consulting job for a couple of weeks now as my 'normal' full-time job begins on Tuesday (Monday being a public holiday, thank goodness, so I can have time to finish up all the administration from the swimming classes etc - yay!)

I also have this week to put together a costume for next weekend - the theme is 'Steampunk'. I spent last night throwing things together and have the hat and all accessories pretty much done. That leaves me to do the skirt (including bustle)and top. Looks like I'll be sewing most evenings this week. How did I get roped into this? My best friend is part of a costuming guild here and so she and a couple of others were going to this convention which has this theme and wanted a fourth person to fill in. I'm a sucker for my best friend asking me things - especially when her five kids then start pleading with me to do it too!

I have been a little productive around the house - not as much as I would have liked but I have made some slow headway on things. The two spare rooms were completely cleared out and rearranged and cleaned and so look much better now. I've almost caught up in putting all my photos into albums - at least I'm in the middle of China at the moment so I am slowly uncovering my dining room table again. So there has been some progress - that makes me happy.

So it's a Happy Chinese New Year so far! (Must call a couple of friends who celebrate this!)
