Politics.

You know how they always say never talk politics with your friends? Don't do it with your parents, either. They don't care how old you are, when you disagree with 'em, they treat you like a complete idiot for holding different views.

That said...

-- Arizona has voted NOT to specifically define marriage in the state as one man, one woman.
-- Arizona has voted NOT to pass a smoking-ban act supported by tobacco companies; they have voted TO pass a smoking-ban act supported by the Heart and Lung Association. (The difference, really, was that the first one would cause the entire state to *have* to allow smoking when bar owners wanted it, even if the bar was attached to a restaurant; it would also not allow any of the cities within the state to set stricter smoking rules. The second basically bans it in all public places; I assume this applies to bars, too. I'm not sure how I feel about that; I personally feel bars should be exempt if they choose to be.)
-- Arizona has voted TO make english the official state language; this means that government meetings no longer need to provide translators; voting ballots do not need to be bilingual; and no means need be taken to ensure that non-english speakers can understand governmental or legal matters within the state of Arizona.
-- Arizona voted TO raise the state minimum wage to $6.75 an hour. It's about fucking time!!

There's a number of others, most of which I don't know what they mean.

I dare you folks to figure out which one got me lectured for 10 minutes. :P
