Day off and semi update
I took the day off today and what a good day it was.
I got up this morning thinking it was 11am and that I wasted my day. I looked at the clock - almost 9am. Sucked in to my fellow work colleagues and friends who will have to subject themselves to FTs all day :-)
I had a decent brekkie, watched the end of Dr Phil and the beginning of Oprah and then headed off to Parramatta to finish off the fabric shopping for the Girlsquad EyeCon dresses. I also put in a good 45 minute session of cardio.
I had my echocardiogram this arvo. I hate hospital gowns because I feel too overexposed and the icky gel from the weird ultrasound thingy - eww!!! But yeah, my heart's been given the all clear. My folks can rest easy and that valve can continue to trickle blood back into the heart.
Fridge broke down - oh my elder brother got replaced with a LG tank - I just like the inbuilt ice trays - yay!!!
What else has happened?
Got put in charge of my team yesterday morning at work and then I got owned by my team leader at lunch cos I sent some information to the sub-team I look after and one of the guys decided to CC my team leader in an email showing him his gratitude for being the first mentor to keep them up to date.
Our government department is taking away the milk that they were supplying. Yes, with the budget cuts and people drinking ridiculous amounts of milk a day, it's been culled. But I am fine with it - I don't really drink the shit anyway unless it is made into a milkshake or milo for Tim Tam dunks (but according to Veronica, I don't drink it, I snort it!)
The extension of the non-ongoing contracts got announced at work on Tuesday. They decided to cut 60% of people and put the 40% chosen on contracts to either late June with option of extension reviews or mid September. I'm a bit unhappy with some of the people who they had decided to get rid of and some of the lame excuses they used to get rid of them. One of the people in my sub-group asked if I had a say in who got to stay and I didn't.
I'm sick of the farewells - why can't they all stay? I've been a cake eater every week almost since beginning 2008 :-(
Got a workplace girls' night out tomorrow - it should be pretty good and then I am heading off to the Hunter Valley early on Saturday morning with Belinda for wine tasting, then catching up with Diane on Sunday since she came back from Africa on Saturday.
Next week should be better...
