Since I'm here at Reno and all, they made us write an essay titled "This I Believe" and here's what I wrote.
This I Believe
I believe that every person holds within them the qualities of being worthy of the order of Knighthood. I believe in chivalry still being present today and the upholding of its values in honor and service to society and God. I believe that those who cause injustice and strife will have justice dooly served to them whether we see it or not. I believe in loyalty to the end, to those who are closest to you even if they would not do the same for you. I believe that having humility is the first step to becoming a better person because it shows that I am not perfect or above helping others. I believe in self sacrifice and putting others before myself in order to better someone else as long as it doesn¡¯t degrade the individual. I believe in gallantry towards women because they are not prizes or trophies to be won. They are our sisters, mothers, mentors, and friends and they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. I believe in service to my God, family, and friends because they are the support system in my life and are always there in times of need. I believe in self motivation and initiative are the keys to the future because a lazy person accomplishes nothing with his life. I believe that pain is good for the soul and is a natural part of life because that which doesn¡¯t kill you makes you stronger. I believe in avoiding and fleeing harmful situations because conflict is never necessary and only causes disruption and strife in one¡¯s life. I believe in keeping my word because it builds trust and reliance among friends and strangers alike. I believe in having self control and dignity because doing what society and the media want is destruction of the individual. I believe that my fate is chosen by the choices I make in my life. I believe that through perseverance and will I can accomplish anything to my fullest potential. I believe in myself and my accomplishments because they are the stepping stones to my future.
