Since when did "sins" come into the picture? The questoin is if you have to choose between trying to protect someone else at your expense, or protect yourself and risk hurting them, who gets put on the line?

I suppose, however seeing as how I donnot have any hangups on the other party being the hurt one, as I am very self-caring, I still have to decide what to do with this poker face of mine. It would generally inclinate to me that if you are using a poker face, you are porbably screwing someone else over. I will think on it.
On the one hand being manipulative hurts people, and therefore must be a "sin."
On the other hand, if you're not happy, you're hurting yourself, which constitutes hurting people, which is a "sin."
Either way you're flogged.
