Here's my entry for the nail art contest over at Rebecca Likes Nails. This is my first time entering a nail art contest. =)
I call this my rainbow gradient polka dot mani. The base is OPI Skull & Glossbones, the dots are...well, a lot of different things. I used something like 16 different polishes, and a few of the colors are mixtures of two polishes. Dotting was done with a bobby pin as I'm still waiting for my actual dotting tools to arrive.
I got a lot of compliments on this at work today. People act so surprised when you say you did your nails yourself. I've actually never been in a nail salon.
When pulling out colors for this I discovered that I don't really have any polishes in between blue and purple. I have lots of blues, and a few purples, but nothing that really falls in between. I had to mix myself a middle color.
I enjoyed this! It was sort of fun having a theme. There may be more nail art contests in my future. =)
