So I guess it's been ages since I did any posts here, but with school being completely over with, I feel like maybe I should find some excuse to use my new computer (thanks mom!). So for those of you who actually read this thing, and are interested in what's going on in Rachel-land, here's an update!
I graduated just over a month ago, and I miss my apartment terribly. I hate living back at home--well, hate is too strong a word for it, I just would rather not be there. My room is a disaster, there's nowhere to put anything, and the family room is the same way because there's no place for anything to go. I want to move out badly. Dave and I are talking about it...
I started my summer gig as the intern for the Wyoming County Soil and Water Conservation District. It doesn't pay very well, but it's experience in my field (which i hear is priceless), and it's not fisher-price, which is a nice change. Basically I'm everybody's bitch. I do work for the secretary, I help my boss with all of his writing because he's totally incompetent, and I'm making maps and doing their website (www.wcswcd.org). Soon I'll start with my big summer project, which is a Stream Analysis of Tonawanda Creek. Basically I'll just walk in the creek, try not to infect myself with poison ivy, and make note of erosion areas and issues, while I take photos with the department's ancient digital camera. Should be a nice change from being in the office all day.
Dave's good, he's working like crazy as always, and he's coaching a whole bunch of baseball (assistant coach of one little league team, and head coach of a big league team). That keeps him pretty busy, but we still find the time to go do stuff, which is nice...
I think I might have hurt my back some how, maybe when I fell off the stairs and sprained my ankle, and so my right leg goes numb from the knee down when I sit and especially when I drive. I ought to get that checked out.
My brother might be in a movie... Henry Rubin, the movie producer, bumped into him and is interested in having him get deeply involved in his next flick. They're working out the contract details within the next month or so.... sounds good to me! I don't know how that kid gets into so many weird situations, but at least he won't ever be bored!
Well, I'm at Dave's and I think I might go home and straighten up the pigsty I live in, and formulate a plan for things to do today... See you later!
