It was past midnight when Sho stumbled out of the car, rubbing his eyes and wishing for the pain in his shoulders to subside. He didn't really remember the drive back to the studio, as he had collapsed onto the backseat as soon as his manager had closed the door behind him. Damn Ohno-kun, why did you have to say yes to a boating tournament?, had been his last coherent thought. And now he was back at the set, trying to remember his lines and the scene they were supposed to shoot right now. He needed a script and some coffee, Sho thought, but before that he clearly needed a shower.
As he made his way past the assistants and light technicans to the coffee machine to get at least one out three, he noticed that among all the busy faces he couldn't find the one he was actually hoping to see. He filled a cup for himself and, after a moment's deliberation, filled another. Just when he turned to walk towards her trailer, a group of extras came running around a corner and Sho had to back away in order to not spill the hot coffee all over himself. He blinked sleepily.
"Is that one for me?" A voice below him asked kindly and then a white hand came up expectantly. Sho turned towards her and knelt down. "What are you doing here? Are you hiding?" Sho asked as he handed her the coffee. "No," she replied "I am watching, look!" And she pointed towards something behind Sho, behind the set even. Sho furrowed his brows, there was nothing there just some old trees that looked black and stark against the nocturnal sky as far as he could even see them. But then he looked again, followed the gentle curve of Aoi's finger towards a point on a high tree. A moving point...
"It's an owl. And it's angry that we're making so much noise." Aoi whispered into his ear. "It has been marching up and down that branch for a while now." She paused and tilted her head, her hair brushing Sho's shoulders. "Maybe it expects an apology." She mused. "Maybe." Sho said and couldn't quite contain the giggle in his voice. He leaned back now, a little closer to Yu and closed his eyes. There was another giggle brewing in his chest and he wasn't sure if he should let it be or not. This wasn't very funny but he had been so very tired and there was something about Yu that made him uncoil and unstress in such a way that he couldn't keep himself as straight and professional as he wished. So lost was he in that thought that he almost missed the slight pressure on his shoulder as Aoi settled closer to him again, her head fully rested on his shoulder now. She took a sip of the coffee. "You can take a nap if you want to. The camera broke and they've been trying to fix it for hours now." She reached over and took the cup out of Sho's hands. "I'll wake you up when they are done." Her voice, again, was barely more than a whisper. Sho felt himself slump over a little and then Aoi's hands where on his face and gently guided him towards her shoulders. He was asleep before he knew it.
