In truth, she doesn't treat him differently--at least that's what she thinks. Or if she has treated him differently, it's in another way completely. One that Erika doesn't think he's ever considered an option.
"I hope you know that I don't share gyoza with just anyone." They're on their lunch break and the staff had decided to let them have all the gyoza that they'd just used for filming. (Erika didn't have to do many takes which meant more gyoza for her.)
Kase laughs and moves to take the same piece of gyoza she'd been aiming for. "Hey!" Kase yelps when Erika sharply whacks his fingers with her chopsticks.
"You have a whole plate of gyoza in front of you!" Erika snipes. "No taking mine."
"And you have all the ones with meat. Don't think I didn't realize mine was all vegetarian."
Erika raises her chin. "You're the one who grabbed that plate and pulled it towards you. Not my problem." She again hits him as he reaches for another piece on her plate.
"You know, sharing is caring."
"And the sempai should be kind to his kouhai," Erika says--sickeningly sweet. She adds a wide grin to it. Except her cheeks are filled from an unswallowed gyoza so she's pretty sure the effect isn't exactly as she wanted.
Kase stares and then sighs. "Fine," he says, finally taking one of the gyoza on his own plate and eating it.
Despite that, about half the time, Erika still has to defend her plate. (She pretends to not notice when he does manage to steal one away; she can be nice sometimes.)

Kase tells her a month after filming wraps. When they're no longer seeing each other practically every day. When she starts to wonder if her crush was just something that came with proximity (after all, it wouldn't be the first time that had happened).
"I liked you," he says. Straight forward and simple.
This is over the phone so Erika can only imagine how Kase looks right now. She pictures him sitting down properly in a chair, one hand flat on his lap and the other holding the phone to his ear. No sign of worry on his face, just him stating facts. (In truth, Kase is relaxed on his bed--on one of his rare days off--the blanket is pulled up to his lap and the television is on in the background. It's muted so that he doesn't get distracted by sound, and all he wants to hear is what's on the other end of the phone call.)
"You have terrible timing," she says--a half-laugh, a half-sigh. She's in the middle of filming with Miura Haruma and while she's not interested in that way in him, Erika also has no time to consider dating of any kind with two dramas lined up back-to-back.
"Ah, well." He pauses (she can just imagine him rubbing at the back of his head--which he is). "Timing or not, I thought you should know."
She pauses in return. "Is it past tense?"
Kase laughs. "Depends if you want it to be."
Maybe she lets the silence go by a little too long, but Kase doesn't seem to mind. His breathing on the other line helps calm her heart down. "Ask me at the end of June and I'll let you know then." Kase laughs, but he never does say no.
The end of June though marks the announcement of the SPEC movie.

"So, past tense?" Kase asks, when he corners her in her dressing room on the first day of shooting.
Erika grins and leans into him--even though really, there's practically no space between them to begin with. "Definitely not."
He returns her grin before covering her lips with his.

Thanks a million for this, it's exactly how I wanted it to be. It is PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT, and it just made my crappy day so much better.
