Hinako rolled her eyes dramatically to the ceiling, complete with a huff of disbelief before turning on her heel to face a smiling and completely unsuspecting Manaka. "Miyama, Miyama, Miyama! I swear you look for her every five minutes, don't you have anything better to do?!"
Manaka blinked, taking a step backward and looking completely taken aback. "No, I just wanted to ask her--"
"And how come you always look for her but--" Hinako stepped forward, huge eyes and equally huge pout on her lips. "Obocchan never looks for me?"
Manaka blinked again, frozen in place, mouth falling open. "Uh."
"Do you," Hinako took another step forward, "...like Shizuku?"
Manaka blushed, shaking his head vigorously in denial. "No, I don't-- well, I suppose maybe--"
"But what about me?" Hinako demanded, taking another step forward, nearly stepping on one of Manaka's feet. "Don't you like me?"
"I--"
"Don't you think I'm pretty?" she went on, face so close to his now that she could see his Adam's apple bob in his throat as he swallowed.
"You're very pretty," Manaka squeaked.
"Really?" She batted her eyelashes for emphasis.
"R-Really!"
"Good." She turned on her heel again abruptly with a toss of her carefully-curled hair at the sides of her face. "I know I am." With that, she sashayed away, clipboard held primly to her chest.
"What was that all about?" Manaka gasped at Sachi, who happened to pass by and had rushed over because Manaka was clutching at his chest like he was having a heart attack. Sachi followed his gaze to Hinako's exaggeratedly-swaying hips down the hall and gave a cough that sounded like she was trying not to laugh.
"A boy on her round said she was ugly."
