Geeky weekend ish geekeh
I woke up and watched the latest episodes of Heroes season 3. I hope I'm not spoiling anyone here. I was starting to see why some fans are getting dissatisfied with the latest season. It felt like Harry Potter book 7 all over again where it just felt like one big fanfic with pairings popping out of nowhere, ending up feeling awkward however much they tried to justify it. And by the latest episode it feels like the writers have sensed that, so they're starting to bring the status quo back.
After that I went out to Megamall. I saw the V5 alright, but the line was so long so when Ran texted that him and Jill are already in Sizzling Pepper Steak (in the new wing!) I went on and joined them for lunch there ^^ Jill told us some awesome stories about her in-game experiences in WoW, while Ran talked about how things are lately in the local gaming industry.
As agreed we went to the movies to watch Bolt. As usual, I don't check out reviews, trailers or whatever so I have no idea what to expect. So I was mislead several times, and it entertained me XD we squee'd at all the cute parts. Oh, and:

After that I checked with Edgar Tadeo and thankfully I was able to catch up to Jay Anacleto's book signing in Comic Odyssey, Robinson's Galleria. I started walking to get there, while Jill went to Shangri-La mall for her car to pick her up and Ran went off to find some spa tiemz. XD
The crowd has considerable thinned out by then so I found there Jay Anacleto, Edgar Tadeo, Gerry Alanguilan, Leinil Yu and Ariel Atienza. I bought a copy of Marvels- Eye of the Camera and Jay signed it. After a bit of chitchat I remembered Ran mentioning about the AEGIS open meet happening today, so I went out and walked to Residencia 8888.
It was nice seeing everybody there again. Adrian, Nabs, VIc, Phil, Nicky, Sam, Joey, Sam, Sandor and all the others. I saw Bon and Phil playing Navia Drapt, a game I played only once two years ago. I really enjoyed the game and have wanted my own board set since, but is too expensive :( so I was really happy to see it again ^_^ Rolf took me on, saying he also played it only once before.
The start of the game found us with Rolf always being on the offensive, forcing me on the defensive. I started ranting about how he's bullying me, while Joey Gohu and the others simply joined in with teasing me :p
Rolf: Your move, Jac.
me: There weren't much moves left!
Joey: Oh but there are plenty... Plenty ways to DIE!!!
me: TAT
There are also chess/checker-like moves where I was forced to move my battle pieces where his would catch them, without any way for em to retaliate.
me: Waa! You caught my battle piece and I can't do anything about it!!!
Rolf: You can bitch about it? :D
me: *baps Rolf*
OMFG! Jon Sideno called Nabs just so he could tell me to come down in the middle of our Navia Drapt game because there's a HELLO KITTY CAR parked there! I ran down and Joey joined so we can has dinnarz after. I got down just in time to see it backing out onto the road! I took pics when I can XD
We both decided our moves sooooo slow! The game took us 2 hours! The game was as enjoyable as ever though for I even helped Rolf find the most logical moves possible, although my style is predictable tame. And surprisingly, I won! 8D
After that we played this F1racing-themed boardgame and we had to play it quick because it was getting too close to midnight. Nicky won, while I came in 4th out of 6 players, because Joey and Thomas kinda crashed and had to go back to first gear.
I discovered that there's a 24-hour McDo near there where they let you plug your laptop for free wifi! I went there right after but they told me they're only 24-hours on weekdays :(
I was walking around when I bumped into Joey. I asked how he's going home, and he said he brought his car. I asked if he could drop me off at Galleria, and he agreed. Fortunately he lives near Quezon Avenue so it's along the way. I was surprised when he let me into his black sportscar (lol) because it's been a while since I rode in a two-door.
I was also surprised when he zoomed along the quieter roads of Ortigas and got me in Galleria in no time. It takes a lot to impress me with driving because my dad is the fastest AND safest drivers I know. So when OI told him so he noted that he likes the car for its feeling stable despite being supposedly light. I guess the suspension was pretty good.
It's really nice to see a true car fan, you can see it not only in how good they are at fast driving, you can also see it in how gorgeous their car looks. You can see how they maintain it :) Personally I have at least 3 cars in my wishlist(a Hello Kitty car, an Innova and a restored 1948 Buick), but realistically I doubt if I'll ever even drive XD
