My brothers have apparently moved into the stage of competitive parenting where B2 calls B1's son gay and then B1 mocks B2 for having a daughter instead of a son.

Such fun.

I sincerely hope that when I have children they leave me out of this kind of behavior because I think it might actually cause me or nlanza to punch them in the face.

vallentine mentioned this idea of mine back to me today. One of her old friends is adopting the small-research-project-plus-cake format for her daughter.

Christmas is always an odd time for me. I went to Catholic school as a kid, and of course you do all this stuff for Christmas, but it's impressed on you the importance of Easter (well, the Easter season, not Easter the one day) as the most important religious holiday. So Ravelry doesn't let you put pictures on your projects or your yarn stash unless you have a flickr account, which I don't. They do let you link out to pictures in your project notes, which is really all I care about.
