In conjuction with my previous post...

I've been really trying to use the beauty products I already have and I've rediscovered some old favourites. In this random beauty blog I'll be listing those rediscovered favourites but also some products I just really love.

  • Generally I have really oily facial skin, or I can get pretty oily as the day goes on. So for moisturizing I use Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It's light and sinks into my skin really nicely. However, with it being winter now and the air being much dryer I need something slightly thicker, but not too heavy because I can still get pretty shiny as the day goes on. In the summer I purchased Clean & Clear's Soft Oil-free Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 (which is always a plus). It's slightly heavier than the Clinique, but certainly not greasy in the least.
  • I think my absolute favourite foundation has to be Make Up Forever's Mat Velvet+. The pigmentation is phenomenal, which is great because I always look for full-coverage in a foundation. I don't need much at all and the coverage is amazing. And of course it has a really nice matte finish which works great with my skin type.
  • And to go with foundation, my favourite concealer is Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer in Medium. I've never thought that I'd be able to use a salmon coloured concealer mainly because I'm Asian and I just assumed that I have yellow undertones and as of recently I've realized that I don't exactly. This concealer matches my skin tone like no other and the consistency is so smooth. It isn't chalky or cakey at all. It does still tend to build a little in my under eye creases, but that's just something I've learned to deal with.
  • My favourite lip combination at the moment is Maybelline's lip liner in Rose and NARS Orgasm Lipgloss over top. The liner is just slightly darker than my natural lip colour and the gloss lightens it up perfectly. With my skin tone it's difficult to find a nice pink lip colour that goes well with it and doesn't wash me out. I'd nearly given up on the Orgasm gloss because it was just too pale, but the combination of these two lip products is just what I've been looking for.
  • My all time favourite eyeliner, Eve Pearl's Black Pearl Liquid Eyeliner pen. The the tip of the pen is a brush rather than a felt tip. Felt tips tend to absorb eyeshadow and dry out much faster than they should. The brush tip allows me to be able to clean it if there is any excess build-up. Like the rest of my face, my eyelids tend to get pretty oily too, which leads to unfortunate smudging. After I set my eyeshadow primer with a powder, I line my eyes and it lasts all day. And the pen just makes application so simple. This coming from someone with a pretty shaky hand.
  • My eye brows aren't dark at all. They're pretty light looking even with the hairs being black. For a while I tried just filling them in a bit with brow powder but I never seemed to get the right colour or shape them the way I wanted. Finally I decided to by an Anastasia Eye Brow Pencil in medium brown. It is honestly the best thing I've ever used on my eyebrows. I was a little hesitant at first because I'd heard that Anastasia products were overrated, but this pencil really works for me. I can fill my brows in and shape them and they look so natural. I see some girls walking around and it seriously looks like they drew their eyebrows in with a Sharpie. No thanks. I like my eyebrows to look real and nicely groomed, and I can achieve that with this.

I obviously have way more than this on my dresser, but there is absolutely no way for me to be able to do a review on every single thing I own. Therefore, this will have to do in the meantime. As time goes on and I use more of my things, I'll probably do more random posts like these. I honestly have no following on here, it's just something I really felt like doing for myself and the odd person who happens to stumble upon my LJ.

Later days! :D
