I did get to see Paris -in 1990 I think -when my daughter was in the Air Force and stationed in Germany. I went to visit her and we took a bus tour to London and Paris. We saw a show at the Moulin Rouge! And I remember artists set up painting everywhere. She has always wanted to visit Australia. I just saw an ad on TV promotong tourism in Sydney. Ah dreams, yes. I am still hoping *we* can team up on a future intersection if we can stay alive in the game and Gary has another! :)
Good plan. Look forward to it. Yes There is so much here, its like having every country, from mountains and snow to desert and wild bush, with a whole lot of sand surrounding it. But then America has everything too, except Kangaroos, and Koalas, LOL.
I love Paris and this really took me back! And this totally didn't go where I expected it to - you make Melbourne sound lovely, too, and now I want to go there!

I can just imagine you in Paris, fitting in so well as you wander around the streets.
What a lovely, vivid story. I can see it all in my minds eye. Well done. I look forward to reading The Straw too.

Paris didn’t just creep into my heart; instead it grabbed me by the throat, and dared me not to like it.
When we got to the Champs Elysees it looked like a lighted caterpillar leading to the Arc de Triumph.
I quite liked these lines. :)
