Hi everyone! I'm afraid I'm a rather recent convert to Jacob/Leah after BD--but better late than never, right? :)
Anyway, here's a song that just screams Jacob/Leah to me--I used to think of it as a J/B song, but it really does fit J/L to a tee as well. It's "Near to You" by A Fine Frenzy....
This song to me is J/L in a nutshell during Book 2 of BD, and especially after Bella's death in BD, assuming that Jacob went out the door instead of being side-tracked by stupid Nessie, and that he stuck to his original plan of finding companionship and healing with Leah after Bella died....you can either view it as entirely from Leah's POV (it is sung by a woman, and the lyrics all work for her), or see it as a duet between Jacob and Leah from both of their POVs, if you just focus on the lyrics and make a few minor edits. Here is my idea for how it would be as a duet, with Jacob referring to his lost love Bella, and Leah referring to Sam (who would never love her back once he imprinted, etc):
J: (S)He and I had something beautiful
But so dysfunctional, it couldn't last
L: I loved him so but I let him go
'Cause I knew he'd never love me back
J & L: Such pain as this
Shouldn't have to be experienced
I'm still reeling from the loss,
Still a little bit delirious
J: Near to you, I am healing
But it's taking so long
L: 'Cause though he's gone
And you are wonderful
It's hard to move on
J & L: Yet, I'm better near to you.
J or L: You and I have something different
And I'm enjoying it cautiously
J or L: I'm battle scarred, I am working oh so hard
To get back to who I used to be
L: He's disappearing
Fading suddenly
I'm so close to being yours
Won't you stay with me
Please
(Chorus again)
J: I only know that I am
Better where you are
L: I only know that I am
Better where you are
J & L: I only know that I belong
Where you are
(Chorus again)
J & L: Yet, I'm better near to you.
What do you think?
