Thanks. Not helped by John being away on his writers workshop and me having to deal with everything alone - neighbours have all been nice though, I reckon if the yobs come back I might be able to muster a posse... :)

If you do get a neighborhood posse to catch them, might I suggest that spray-painting their sneakers might be appropriate retribution to teach them not to vandalize others' property. A little turn-about can be educational. They damage your property, you damage theirs.

nice idea :) unfortunately, given how useless the police are here *I* would end up the one being prosecuted, because they would have a crime that they could solve, rather than one they can't (i.e. I don't know which one did the damage so the officer tried to persuade me not to make a complaint...)
