I am not going to bother to go in to this long narrative stating that I am not a racist because I really, genuinely don't care what you believe either way. With that being said, I sometimes feel the term "racist" is thrown around a bit loosely. A racist person is an odious, audacious, and just plain out terrible person. This leads me to believe that we should be careful in our accusations. This term could ruin someone's entire career or tarnish the legacy they leave behind. Now if someone is deserving of this title, their life should be ruined and they should have no legacy. But what I am talking about is this.
Stephen Hawking recently spoke about aliens. He said (i am paraphrasing) to be hesitant to want to meet extra-terrestrial beings because we might not like their reasoning to come here in the first place. He says it would possibly be because they have depleted their resources and are looking for more. So they would annihilate the human race(which I am starting to support more and more, myself included) and take our resources.
Well one person proposed that Stephen Hawking was actually speaking about illegal immigrants. The person stated that he believed Hawking was referring to mexicans trying to come in the country illegally, so therefore he was a racist.
Firstly, you are insulting the smartest man that has ever lived(besides Nick). Secondly, I think this is a bit of a stretch. Why is it so hard to believe that he was actually speaking about extra-terrestrial life?
Plus even if he did mean that, which he doesn't, it wouldn't make him a racist to believe that people should come to this country by legal means. If the person making the argument would have said he meant mexicans or asians or pacific islander that would have made a little more sense. But he said my boy Steph-o was referring to illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrant isn't a race. Immigrant isn't a race.
Get a life brah! I will be posting the video as soon as I can find it.
