best video game series
So I have been trying to figure out what the best video game series of all time is. This is difficult for obvious reasons. So I am going to make a top 5 of my personal favorites. By no means am I saying that these are the best series. I just really enjoyed them a lot.
5. Resident Evil: All of these games were so incredible. I remember staying up many a nights playing these games. Great story, great gameplay, great everything.
4. Lunar: Just incredible games that really did a great job of making me love all of the characters. I always hated to beat one of these games because I knew I had become too attached to the characters to let them go. All in all great games.

2. Metal Gear: Holy shit these are some damn fine games. Great story, great gameplay, amazing characters, great everything. It was pretty hard for me not to put this as number one. But in my humble opinion the best video game series of all time is…
1. Max Payne: I am not sure what it is about Max Payne and the Fall of Max Payne but those two games I could play until the end of time. There is just something about that type story I love. The man's wife and child were killed and he just wants to die. But he decides that instead of just killing himself, he is going to take out as many of the people responsible until he dies.
The coolest thing about these games is the character development. I love how in the beginning Max is pretty much banking on dying at the very first fight but starts to realise that he can actually make it to the top. Well he thinks it is all over but true to form… it never is. which is why a sequel took place that was just as incredible. What I really liked about the sequel, The Fall of Max Payne, is that it picks up 30 minutes after where the first one ended. there was not some huge gap that needs a shit ton of back story to get mixed in with the already increasingly complex story that is taking place. At the end of the first game he is dying and being rushed to the hospital. At the beginning of the second game he was being treated at the hospital. I just enjoyed that. Plus Max Payne was a very innovating game when it came out. Had a lot of new style gameplay that is now being used in several games.
So that is it. My humble opinion on the best series. There were several honorable mentions on the list but these 5 are the beez neez.
