The JH Finally Got Her Comics post of rambling
Booster Gold: AAAAAA I LOVE GIFFEN AND DEMATTEIS. I love love love that Booster is a hero who is harried and sarcastic, and yet unquestionably a hero. And I'm glad to see he's competent! I am happy.
* Dear god, Emerald Empress's puns are awful. And I'm secretly a fan of bad puns.
* I really, really like Batista's art--he draws great expressions, which is really what I'm looking for in comic art, apparently. Although I agree that Rip needs a tighter shirt.
* ...Giffen and deMatteis have a thing for robot sex, don't they.
** Oh my god they have to bring back L-Ron because that would make my whole life. OH NO I HOPE HE DIDN'T FORGET MAX THAT WOULD BE TRAGIC
* Rip being that snarky throws me off--I'm used to him being a straight man (and no pun intended, for once). Eh, I'll see how it works. Also his bickering with Skeets and Booster and his terrible handwriting are adorable.
Generation Lost: Okay, I'm always gonna be pissed that DC turned Max evil for no reason. And it's gonna take a hell of a lot to make me think it was in-character, considering all of the character development we saw in JLI through his own damn thoughts But, I think he's about as well done as he could be here. I have a weakness for villains who are totally convinced they are saving the world, and if Max isn't just lying because he's EEEEEEEEVIL, then he's got that in spades. And sweet god the homoeroticism. Max missing Booster's shiny ass his friends just breaks my heart and I don't care if he's evil I just wanna hug him and Maaaaaaaaaaaaax ;~; Seriously, when the hell did he become my favorite JLI member?
*Tony Harris, I love you dearly, but what the hell is that horrible Booster. At least Max looks sufficiently pretty.
*Speaking of pretty Max, hot damn the interior art. And his eyelashes. And apparently he turned evil for the sex appeal, cause goddamn. (Okay, everyone else is very pretty too, but Max.)

*Oh my god if they make Tora dark and gritty I will punch someone. I can't wait till the fans who grew up with the JLI get in charge and decide to change everything to what they remember. (Bitter? Naaaahhhh.)

First Wave: Goddammit Denny and Ebony you are pushing all my "weird guy with no sense of boundaries annoying the hell out of a girl" ship buttons. And Denny is extremely pretty, as always (as is everyone else. I got lucky on the artists this month, man.) And Ebony has a cabbie hat! And Denny is noir and a bit goofy! ♥

* I really hate that my memory for canon sucks so much. For anything plot-driven, I will not remember anything from month to month. Hrngh.
Birds of Prey:I never have anything to say about Gail Simone's stuff except YAY I LOVE EVERYTHING. ♥ Except apparently I became a big fan of Huntress and it's all Renee's fault. I missed the last Birds of Prey, but the characters seem pretty great and wheeee kickass women!
* PLEASE BRING RENEE ON THE TEAM PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and she can date Helena! :D
