There is absolutely no reason for Jim or Pam to work at Dunder Mifflin anymore. This has pretty much always been true, but it's been a relatively ignorable plot hole. Many people stay in shitty jobs for a variety of reasons, particularly when the main problems are just boredom and mild irritation. However, the events of recent weeks have been completely ridiculous. I can't think of a rational reason that anyone would stay at a job where you feel the need to talk your boss and co-worker out of possibly setting a building on fire.
Maybe if Jim quits next week and they tone down the wackiness, I might reconsider. We shall see.
