You see, New Jersey people don't say "I'm going to the beach" or even "I'm going to the shore." They say "I'm going down the shore." I'm glad to hear that my people are recieving fair representation in higher education these days. We've been much maligned; it's time for the ignorance to end.

We have drive-through liquor stores, but I just call them ... drive-through liquor stores. What were the options? (Not that you'll respond, considering you're probably in Lousiana now and have slightly more pressing matters with which to contend).

I may be in Louisiana, but that I will never lack time for discussing regional slang.

The options were a brew thru, a party barn, a bootlegger, a beer barn and a beverage barn. Incidentally, they have a shit ton of these in Louisiana, where liquor laws are so lax that passengers can legally drink in moving cars. I have no idea what they call them in Louisianese, though. The mysteries of Louisiana English I may never untangle.
