Heath Ledger IS the Joker....apparently.

So, the first picture of Heath Ledger as the Joker has been revealed. Cue the mass hysteria. What the fuck is that? Is this supposed to be gritty? Try as I might, I can't imagine what Heath Ledger's Joker is going to be like. I do admit, though, it's probably not going to be good enough for me. I have a very, very specific idea of who the Joker should be and I doubt it's ever going to waiver. I also am not looking forward to the inevitable rehash of the same godamn Joker story we have to endure endlessly. You know the drill: Batman could save countless lives by killing the Joker, but if Batman kills the Joker, he becomes him. It's like the only Joker story anyone ever wants to tell. That's pure speculation on my part, but I can't imagine things going any other way.

I shouldn't even bother. I know that no Batman movie will ever be as satisfying to me as Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.
