Note: So, apparently, in 2010, I wrote something I labelled “Useful First Draft or Next Towel Day Fic”. I came across this today, literally exactly ten years later. So here it is, folks, cleaned up and posted, because Happy Towel Day, my Hoopy Froods!
-----
Jack likes to pretend I can’t surprise him.
But I know better.
Still, this just might take the cake.
After all, we’ve been in this situation countless times, and I’ve never even been tempted.
Yet here we are.
I really don’t know what made me do it.
I only know I couldn’t resist. The thought just crossed my mind, and before I knew it, the deed was done.
The impact (and the sound) made Jack jump, and I laughed. I couldn’t help it. The look on his face was priceless. I think he would have been less surprised to discover I was Goa’uld than that his mild-mannered archeologist smacked his ass from across the locker room.
His shock paralyzed him for a second, and I used that time to make my getaway before he could do more than gape. And now, safely in my car and heading home, I giggle.
Again, I can’t help it. I mean, how often do I not only surprise Jack O’Neill, but do so using the perfectly executed tactics of a high school jock?
Huh.
Guess it’s true what they say.
A towel really is the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.
