hereCharacter Background: Applejack was born to an enormous family in the apple business. They grew apples, picked them, and then made and sold delicious foods from them. However, she never wanted to be from the country at first. When she was a filly, Applejack went to live with her family in the city to learn how to be a more sophisticated pony. She soon felt homesick and that the elegant lifestyle just wasn't for her. It wasn't until a rainbow looked like it was pointing back to the Sweet Apple Acres, her home, that she knew where she belonged.
Afterwards, she became one of the best apple buckers in Ponyville. It was during the Summer Sun Celebration that she met Twilight Sparkle, an introverted unicorn pony. While the unicorn in question didn't necessarily want friends, Applejack saw her as one, and that was good enough for the earth pony. Through Twilight, she then met the other ponies at a welcoming party: Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity.
After the party, they made their way over to where the Princess Celestia would raise the sun. That was when Nightmare Moon appeared in the Princess' place, and all of Equestria was shrouded in eternal night. Applejack and the other ponies raced over to Twilight's house to get some answers. There, they found out that the only way to defeat Nightmare Moon and save the Princess was to use the Elements of Harmony. According to legend, they were hidden deep in the Everfree Forest.
The six ponies ventured into the forest, overcoming every obstacle Nightmare Moon threw at them. Eventually, they found the Elements of Harmony, but there was no magic in them. Twilight tried to give them the spark of magic they needed, and the rest of the ponies left her alone for it. Nightmare Moon appeared while they were gone, and took the Elements along with Twilight Sparkle. The five ponies raced to their friend's aid, only to find that the evil mare had destroyed the Elements.
However, Twilight told them that they didn't need them because of what her friends had done to overcome the obstacles. They had each demonstrated all five Elements of Harmony, and the spark of friendship Twilight had felt for them was what would be needed to use against Nightmare Moon. After using the magic, the evil mare regained her true form as Luna, the younger sister of Princess Celestia. The Princess and her sister were saved, and Twilight was ordered to stay in Ponyville to study the magic of friendship with her five friends.
The following episodes showed many shenanigans and lessons in friendship. For example, Applejack learned that sometimes she would need help from her friends, even if it means taking a blow to her pride. She also learned that she should never let a competition get too far out of hand, since she and Rainbow Dash in one episode kept trying to foul each other up in a race of theirs. Still, it does show her as an honest and hard-working pony, and also one of the most patient. The latter is seen particularly in Dragonshy, when she had to drag a terrified Fluttershy up the side of a mountain.
They also start leading up to the main event at the season finale, the Grand Galloping Gala. Applejack wanted to go there to sell her apple treats and raise enough money to repair the farmhouse, and for Granny Smith's hip. Yet, the Gala ended as a terrible night for her and her friends. It got better once all six of them hung out at Spike the baby dragon's favorite donut shop. There, they realized that as long as they had each other, it was the best night they ever had, despite how awful it had been.
Abilites/Special Powers: Applejack doesn't really have anything supernatural. She is, however, good at herding, picking apples, lasso-work, general athletics, and baking. Most academics go soaring over her head.

Applejack looked around at the unfamiliar orchard she had found herself in. It was a very nice orchard, but it wasn't her orchard, and that set her a bit on edge. The last thing she remembered was getting home from an awful night at the Grand Galloping Gala, and the next? Well, it was right there in the orchard!
"I could've sworn I fell asleep in my own bed last night," the pony muttered as she picked up the journal that was next to her. It seemed important. Once it was secure in her mouth, she started to wander around, trying to find anypony. She was going to get some confounded answers around here, even if it took her all day!
After a few minutes of walking aimlessly, Applejack sighed. This was definitely not home like she knew it. As far as she was aware, she was the only pony around. None of her friends or family seemed to be in the area she was in, anyway. When she was clear of the orchard, Applejack froze when she caught sight of the ginormous mansion.
"Wh-whoa, now…."
She spotted some…thing that was no kind of animal she had ever seen before. Whatever it was, it walked on two legs and was hairless, except for the hair on top of their head. Applejack hesitated only for a moment, and then approached whoever-it-was with a confidence she wasn't sure she was feeling at the moment.
"Hey! Ya mind helpin' a pony out here, partner? I think I went 'n got myself lost."
First-Person Sample:
[At first, all that's seen is the sky and some tree branches. Every now and then, there's a sound of hooves meeting the ground. After about a minute of this, somebody with a country-sounding accent speaks.]
What in tarnation is goin' on around here? This ain't my apple orchard, that's for sure. 'N I'm doubly sure that there was nothin' like this near or at Canterlot! Then…how in Equestria did I end up here?
[Suddenly, the head of an light orange, blond-maned pony with what looks like a cowgirl hat appears on the screen. She gives the journal an unimpressed, but curious, look.]
And what the hay is this contraption? …This thing's blinkin' like a little firefly! A little red firefly. What if I…?
[Yes, she's talking, and yes, that is a hoof meeting the journal as everything goes to static.]
