If it was of the same age when I had a subscription to zoobooks, I probably would've bought a robot, a sheep, construction and falconry supplies and would've built mews, got my falconry license and aquired a young kestrel to train.
My little brother and I saved up all our money and were going to buy and share an omnibot. By the time we did, they'd sold the only one in town. *sigh* We split the money and got unbelievably sugar high that day, the rest went into my falconry fund; I think Joel bought a bike.
Actually, I think the lawyer's wrong on that; a lot of kids find out when they hit their majority that their credit is already trashed because their parents have been putting utilities and bills in their names... happens to an outrageous number of foster kids. So Odin did right by you there.
But if someone handed me a couple thou randomly, I'd probably send it to the bank that holds my mortgage. I'm boring that way.
