Everything was bigger in Texas. Even things that were supposed to be kept secret from Muggle society, like Quidditch. It was a warm May afternoon and the stands of the Sweetwater Quidditch Complex was filled with anxious fans, most of them sporting the Sweetwater All-Stars classic red and blue colors. It was highly unlikely for anyone in Sweetwater to miss a Quidditch match and most stores have closed down for the day. Quidditch was almost a religion to these people, and it being a Sunday, even church ended early.
Randall and Caroline Cooper, along with their daughters, Gracie and Emma-Lee, took their seats, which happened to be some of the best in the house. Clutching various refreshments, the whole crowed waited anxiously for the match to begin.
A hush fell over the stadium as a sound not unlike someone banging a cow-bell rang loudly and rapidly. This caused everyone to spring from their seats and cheer. It was almost time.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!" called a voice that could possibly be heard all over town, though no one would be anywhere else to test this fact. "I welcome you to Sweetwater Quidditch Complex this fine afternoon. Today's match will be the Sweetwater All-Stars..."
The announcer was forced to pause due to the uproar coming from the fans. What seemed like fireworks exploding into the shapes of red, white, and blue stars filled the sky.
"...and the Houston Hellbounds!" he finished, followed by audible booing, and a gigantic three-headed dog galloped across the sky, growling down at the crowd.. "First I will be announcing the starting players for the Houston Hellbounds!"
The announcer listed the names of each player as they flew up into the air, each providing their own gesture to the audience. Once the last player was called, the announcer spoke once again.
"And now, I am proud to introduce to you, our very own starting Sweetwater All-Stars! Keeping today we have David Smith! Our chasers will be Billy Frederick, Johnny Stephens, and Taylor Moore! Our beaters are Kyle Jenkins, Ryan Calesworth, and Caleb "The Destroyer" Williams."
There was a noticeable anxious feeling falling over the crowd as the announcer prepared to announce the final name.
"Ladies and Gentlemen," he repeated, the suspense growing. "Your seeker this afternoon, Jackson Cooper!"
The audience exploded with applause and cheers as the blonde rocketed into the air, sporting his favorite cowboy boots. He flew around in a few circles, waving to the crowd. Any outsider could plainly see that if Quidditch was their religion, Jackson Cooper was god.
"That's my boy," Randall Cooper exclaimed, pride beaming out of every pore on his body.
