I always held out secret hope that the inspiration for writing a 6/8 song in G came from "Until," but I suppose that I'm just a dreamer.

I remember playing this song on the porch of 408 a year or so back and people came up from the street to tell you how good it was.

In any event, this song is a testament to your ability to write songs that I'm not good enough to play properly.

Sorry to burst your bubble about the lack of a direct Until/Dead Wrong connection. I think that a more direct and distant link is to our abortive attempt to write a song together 5(?) years ago -- a 6/8 ballad in G with a much more similar chord progression. Your Until-era stream of 6/8 songs probably reawakened my interest in that particular meter, even if it wasn't the direct inspiration. I think the most direct inspiration for a Mimes song was "Tear Down the Stars" for "One Step Behind", although I didn't consciously realize it until the song was halfway written (and considered scrapping the song when I did realize the similarities ( ... )
