Update from the 68818

That's right, I'm coming atchu from Aurora, Nebraska. I'm now well into my fourth day here, and although it's Christmas, it feels more like "prison." Haha ok well, just kidding. Kind of.

I had planned on working out and then packing on Friday before I left for home. Instead I slept in until 9:30. I had to leave town by 10:30 because Chelsey needed me to transport a dress from Lincoln to Aurora. So I was home by 12:30, which was fine. Stephanie got engaged about 3 days earlier. Yes, that would be my little sister who just turned 21. I was FOR SURE thinking, summer 2008 wedding...at very earliest fall 2007. Oh no, we're talking early summer 2007, as in about 5 months from now. She asked me to be her maid of honor, which I (of course) accepted. I know I sound bitter, but I guess concerned is a better word...not that it won't last or anything. I just can't imagine being a senior in college and being hitched. Because as "with it" and "independent" as I felt at age 21, I can't even fathom not having those horrible years after college to figure out how to make it on my own...and having complete freedom to make any mistakes I deemed fit doing so. I don't know if any of that makes sense, but I just want her to be happy, and apparently, that means marrying Jesse this summer, so of course I'll support her.

I took my mom and dad to Grand Island to do some last minute shopping. I love Christmas shopping because I always end up with something for myself. ha! I bought some awesome purfume from Gordmans called "In Love Again," man I'm not much of a purfume person but it smells good!

Grandma, Grandpa, Josh, and Gemma came on Saturday (Aunt Kathy was sick). We had good food (too much.......) and opened presents. They left, we napped and watched TV and watched DVDs, and ate.

Sunday I am not sure why, but I slept most of the day. We went to Christmas Eve service at church then opened all our family gifts. I got some $$, lotion, baking tins (cupcakes), headphones, and candy. Maybe some others, I can't really remember.

Stephanie and Jesse left just after lunch today, so now it's just me, Bruce, and Kathy and it doesn't even really feel like Christmas. I guess I am going to stick around until tomorrow. My plans for tomorrow: apply for some jobs (or potential openings) in NYC. Then it's New Year's in Kansas City with the majority of my favorite crew (minus Jackie, who I wish could be there, but I somehow DON'T feel sorry for her in Hawaii). I am already feeling like this break is going too fast. I know there's still about a week left, but breaks are always fleeting. I am getting too close to 25 for comfort.

Well, I am off to watch some Jeopardy or other programming until I once again eat, nap, or watch a DVD. Bye bye!
