Oh, this was a lovely read. I've never read an episode tag for FiAD from Sam's POV and this reads very true. Love the Sam&Jack scene, but even more the way the team interacts towards the end. All of them together, talking about Abydos... wonderful.

Thanks so much! I was worried that the Sam-Jack scene lost too much focus as the team part at the end got longer in rewrites, but this story had to come back to the team in a meaningful way. Jack and Sam were trying really hard to make that happen. ;)

Just beautiful. Tender, rich, and heartwarming. A lovely tag to FIAD. Thank you :)

I didn't fb this right away because I needed to think about it for a bit. It's got a meditative quality that I like and got sucked into. I always like seeing more of Abydonian culture, and you've made it believable. It's also nice to see Daniel take some time out for mourning, with the team to back him up, of course.

Yeah, Sam, I wish you'd known Sha're, too.

Glad you found it interesting and believable. Writing about the Abydonians is always a little bit intimidating. We see a lot of them, but rarely find out the details of their way of life.

This is a very lovely fic. I wouldn't necessarily call it a Sam and Jack friendship fic, but a lovely fic nonetheless! I found your Abydonians very believable, as well as the way in which Daniel mourned and how the team supported and mourned with him. I like your Sam POV, and watching her uncover more insight into Daniel - and through him, insight into Sha're. Your Daniel is just superb.

Very teamy, very bittersweet!

Thank you so much!
The center section of the story was initially a greater percentage of the whole, and had some lighter friendship moments, but there was some cutting of things that weren't as in character as they should have been, and the ending expanded greatly to show both Sam and Jack working together to help Daniel, and the team coming together and resolving things to the point of being able to move on. While that shifted thing toward the 'team' end of the spectrum, I think it also shows Sam-Jack friendship in their awareness of each other's feelings, and their ability to work together to help a friend.

Gorgeous team here--a somber, healing moment, which seem to come all too seldom for them.

Thank you! I'm very glad you liked it! I figure they had to have had moments like this--at least when something of this magnitude happened. We just didn't see them
