Continuation of my story, with Heath and Jake as actors on a nighttime soap opera.

Chapter Four

It was a hard kiss, a rough kiss, with tongues and teeth and mutually satisfied moans.  Jake pulled Heath closer to him; Heath could tell that Jake was just as excited as he was.  Breathing heavily, they grabbed at each other.  Heath’s hands traveled down to Jake’s ass and gave a squeeze.  So firm, so tight, Heath thought deliriously.  What I’d love to do to it…

The thought made him harder than ever.  Shifting his stance, he aligned his pelvis with Jake’s and began to thrust.

Jake tore his mouth away.  “Heath…Heath, we can’t.  Not here.”

Through his fog of lust, Heath heard the words, but it took him a good thirty seconds for them to register.  “Not here…Where?” he gasped.

“I don’t know, but we can’t do it here.  Someone could come in.”

“We’ll lock the door.”

“They’ll hear us.”

Reluctantly, Heath stepped away.  “Shit!” he said, plowing his hands through his hair.

Jake collapsed into his chair.  “Jesus,” he breathed, “what the hell did we just do?”

“I think it’s called making out,” Heath replied.  His erection throbbed painfully in his jeans.

“I’m not…I mean, I’ve never…with a guy,” Jake said.

“Me neither.”

“No?  Oh, man.”  Jake laughed a little.  “This is so messed up.”

A knock came at the door.  “Guys?” said Anne.  “It’s time for reading.”

Jake got up and opened the door.  “We’ll be right there,” he told her.

She looked at him for a second and then shrugged.  “Okay, see you there.”

Jake closed the door again.  “What are we going to do, Heath?” he asked.

“I guess we go to reading,” Heath answered.  “Unless you wanna skip it and hightail it to a hotel.”  He was only joking, but his body was acting like it was a real possibility.

Jake sighed.  “I guess there’s nothing we can do right now.  We’ll have to talk about it later.”

I don’t want to talk! Heath thought.  I’m sick of talking.  I want you, you want me - let’s just do this thing! But, he simply nodded and followed Jake silently out the door.

They walked into the reading room and took their usual seats.  Heath was aware of Anne, Michelle, and Linda staring at them, but he refused to meet any of their eyes.  He focused all of his attention on the script in front of him.  When lunchtime came around, he had half a mind to sit at another table, but knew that that would really clue them in that something was up.

The group ate in silence for a few minutes, until Anne finally set her fork down and said, “Okay, what’s going on with you two?”

Heath and Jake both looked up.  “What do you mean?” Jake asked.

“You’re acting kind of weird,” she said.  “Did you guys have a fight or something?”

“No,” Jake replied.  “Do we look like we had a fight?  We’re not mad at each other.  Are we mad at each other, Heath?”

“Nope,” Heath said, shaking his head.

“See? Everything’s fine.  Just fine and dandy.”

“All right…if you say so,” Anne said.

“I mean, why wouldn’t everything be fine?” Jake continued.  “We’re good friends, we’re on a hit TV show…what’s there not to be fine?”

Heath kicked Jake’s foot under the table.  “Knock it off,” he murmured.

“Okay, Jake, okay,” Anne said.  But she looked toward Michelle and Linda and widened her eyes.

“Yep,” Linda said quietly, “something is definitely going on.”

“There’s nothing going on!” Jake shouted.  People at other tables looked over at them.  “Tell them, Heath.”

Heath indicated Jake.  “What he said.”

Linda put her hands up in surrender.  Heath waited to see if Michelle was going to say anything.  He glanced over at her; she mouthed the words Are you okay? He nodded and smiled at her.

“Let’s just drop the subject, shall we?” she said.

Everyone went back to eating.  Heath suddenly found that he was not very hungry.  He picked at his food while watching Jake out of the corner of his eye.  He couldn’t help it; the man just drew him in.  He wondered what was going to happen at the end of the day.  Would he be invited over to Jake’s place?  Would he invite Jake to his place?  Or, would they just pretend like nothing had happened?

That evening, Heath got to the dressing room first; he sat down and waited for Jake.  He decided to take his cues from the other man, as far as what they were going to do.  But, if Jake tried to act like they’d never kissed, Heath wasn’t going to go for that.  He’d seen Jake’s reaction, had felt it, now he wasn’t about to let Jake deny it.

Jake came into the room.  “Oh, hey,” he said.  He began to put on his jacket.

“Jake…,” Heath began.

“Yes?”

“I thought we were going to…talk.”

“Oh, right.  Well, I just remembered, I’m going to the movies with a friend of mine.  Can we talk tomorrow?”

Heath leapt up from the chair.  “No, we fucking can’t!” he said loudly.  Striding over to where Jake was standing, he pushed him hard against the dressing room door.  Looking deep into Jake’s eyes, he said, “We talk now, or we fuck now - your choice.”

Jake’s eyes widened.  He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

“It’s up to you,” Heath said.  “I’d rather not talk at all.  I’d rather drag you somewhere and fuck the living daylights out of you.  But, it’s your decision.”

“Heath,” Jake said, suddenly breathless.  He reached out and cupped Heath’s face in his hands.  “Come here,” he said, bringing Heath closer.

“God, Jake,” Heath said, and then their mouths met in another long, passionate kiss.

When they finally came up for air, Heath asked, “Were you really going to the movies?”

Jake shook his head.  “I just got scared, of how I was feeling.  Of how you make me feel.”

“How do I make you feel?”

“Like I’m falling off a cliff.  Like I’ll explode if I don’t…”

“If you don’t come?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s how you make me feel,” Heath told him.  “That’s how I feel all the time around you.”

“So, what are we going to do about it?”

“Let’s go to your place.  It’s close by.”

“There might be paparazzi outside,” Jake said.  “If they see us leave together…”  He thought a moment.  “Let’s leave separately, go to our own apartments.  Then you can come to mine in about an hour.  How’s that sound?”

“An hour?”

“Yeah.  We can have dinner first, if you want to.”

“I gotta tell you, Jake, my mind is not exactly on food,” Heath said.

“All right, forget dinner,” Jake replied, smiling.  “Just be there in an hour.”  He gave Heath the address.

“And there’ll be no photographers there?”

“There never is.  The doorman chases them away.”

“Okay.  See you in an hour.”

Jake dropped another kiss onto Heath’s lips, then walked out the door.  Heath waited a few minutes, before leaving himself.

On the ride home, he was on Cloud Nine.  He was getting laid that night - by the most beautiful man he’d ever met.  He wasn’t going to think about tomorrow; he’d deal with whatever happened when the time came.

Exactly one hour later, he was standing at the threshold of Jake’s apartment, one hand clutching a white paper bag.  He knocked on the door.  A few seconds later, Jake answered, freshly showered and looking absolutely delectable in a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants.  Heath nearly attacked him right there, but held himself back.

“Come on in,” Jake said, stepping aside.  “What’s in the bag?”

Heath walked inside.  “I stopped by the drug store and got some, uh, provisions.”

“Great minds think alike,” Jake said with a smile.  “I did the same.”

Heath took a look around Jake’s apartment and let out a whistle.  “Quite a place you got here, Jake,” he said, echoing Ennis’ words to Jack on the show.

“Yeah, it’s all right, I guess,” Jake answered, playing along.  He reached out and took the bag from Heath.  Then he grasped Heath’s hand and led him toward the bedroom, saying, “Let’s go take care of this sexual tension.”

“Good idea,” Heath said.  He was so horny he could barely think straight.  This is it, he told himself.  There’s no going back after this.
