Final installment of my AU story.
Driving Mr. Twist - Part Three
Lureen did not take the news well. “Who is she, Jack?” she demanded that night at dinner.
“It’s someone I’ve known for a little while,” Jack replied. “I don’t know exactly when it happened, but I started getting feelings for him.”
“’Him’? You’re in love with a man?”
“Keep your voice down, please,” Jack said. “Yes, I’m in love with a man.”
“Suddenly, you’re gay? What’s his name?”
“Lureen, I don’t think--”
“What’s his name, Jack?”
Jack sighed. “It’s Ennis. Ennis del Mar.”
Lureen thought for a moment. “Ennis…I know that name.” Then, she gasped. “Isn’t that the name of your driver? You mean to tell me that you’re getting it on with your chauffeur? Oh, Jack, how…how gauche!”
“Lureen, please keep your voice down.”
“Why, Jack? Don’t you want the world to know about your…love?” She grasped her wine glass. “I don’t believe this,” she said, and took a big drink.
“I didn’t expect it to happen,” Jack told her. “It just did.”
Lureen rolled her eyes. “God, you sound like some cheap novel.” She threw her napkin on the table. “I think you should take me home now, Jack.”
“I’m sorry it had to end this way, Lureen,” Jack said.
“Sure you are,” she murmured.
The ride home was agonizing. Lureen spent much of the time staring daggers at the back of Ennis’ head and making comments like, “I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it.” At one point she asked Jack, “What are you going to tell your father?”
“I’ll deal with it,” Jack replied.
Ennis tried to focus on the road ahead of him, but it was difficult. He couldn’t wait to drop Lureen off at her apartment. The stares and ugly comments continued until Jack finally put the privacy glass up. Even then, Ennis could still vaguely hear her. Finally, they arrived at her place and Ennis climbed from behind the wheel to help her out.
“Don’t touch me,” she hissed. She then turned around and said to Jack, “Don’t expect to come back to me once this little fling is over.”
“Good-bye, Lureen,” Jack said. “Take care of yourself.”
Ennis watched her stomp off to her door, then got back into the limo. Jack put the glass down and said, as they pulled away, “I’m sorry about that, Ennis.”
“That’s the kinda stuff we’re gonna have to deal with from everybody,” Ennis replied. “You think your family or your clients are gonna accept us as a couple?”
“Are you changing your mind again, Ennis?” Jack asked angrily.
“No…I’m just saying, it’s not gonna be easy.”
“Well, you know what they say. Nothing worth having is ever easy.” Jack reached his hand out and caressed the other man’s shoulder. “I love you, Ennis. It’s going to be all right.” He grinned. “Pull over; I want to ride up front with you.”
“Umm, okay,” Ennis said. He pulled onto the shoulder of the road. Jack got out and climbed into the seat beside him.
As Ennis took off again, Jack said, “You look so hot in your uniform. Have I ever told you that?”
‘No,” Ennis said, a smile curling the corner of his mouth.
“Well, you do. I think, even after you leave my employ, you should keep the uniform and wear it for me on occasion.” Jack placed his hand on the crotch of Ennis’ pants and gave a small squeeze. Ennis whimpered, and Jack smiled. He tugged down the zipper and brought out Ennis’ dick, which was growing harder by the second. “I love your fucking cock,” Jack said, beginning to stroke it.
“J-Jack, d-don’t, I’m trying to dr-drive!”
“Go on and drive, Ennis. I’m just going to keep myself occupied down here for a little while.” And, without another word, he dipped his head and took Ennis into his mouth.
“Jesus, Jack! Uhhhhh…!”
“Mmmm,” Jack said. He licked the tip and then swallowed the whole thing. Up and down his head went, dripping saliva all over Ennis’ engorged member. His technique was surprisingly impressive, nearly causing Ennis to drive them off the road. Somehow, he kept enough of his wits about him, though at the moment of climax he did swerve the car a little bit. “Oh, Jack, that was…fuck!”
“You liked that?” Jack asked, taking out the handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiping his mouth with it.
“My legs are fuckin’ shaking. Where’d you learn to do that?”
Jack giggled. “Well, let’s just say I experimented some in college.”
“You mean you…and other guys?”
“Just a couple. Relax, they didn’t mean anything. Like I said, it was experimental.”
Ennis wasn’t sure he liked the thought of Jack being with other guys. Somehow, that seemed worse than him being with women. “Well, as long as they’re in the past…”
“Of course they are,” Jack said. “You’re the only one I want, Ennis, I swear. There’s no reason to be jealous.”
“I guess there’s a lot of things I don’t know about you,” Ennis said. “A lot of things we don’t know about each other.”
“I suppose so,” Jack replied. “Tell you what - let’s go back to my place and we can talk. You can tell me all about yourself, and I’ll do the same.”
At Jack’s, they drank whiskey and talked late into the night. Ennis told of his and his siblings’ being orphaned when their parents were killed in a car accident. Jack told of being an only child of a domineering father and a mild but loving mother. Both men grew up in a small towns, as it turned out, not too far from each other. Ennis admitted that his childhood dream had been to grow up to be a cowboy. Jack half-jokingly said that his fantasy was to fuck a cowboy. By two o’clock, they were buzzed and tired of talking, so they went to bed and made love, slowly and sweetly, before falling asleep in each other’s arms.
Jack’s ad for a limousine driver appeared in all the appropriate magazines and newspapers. Over the next few weeks, he interviewed dozens of candidates, with more than a little input from Ennis. Together they decided on Vicki, a woman who was plain and middle-aged and therefore no threat to Ennis. She was very professional and discreet, not blinking an eye when she learned of Ennis and Jack’s relationship. She had a vast knowledge of the city itself, and quickly learned Jack’s routine and way of doing things.
Ennis at first had a bit of a rough time adjusting to his new role in Jack’s life. He was used to being Jack’s driver as well as his lover, but without the driver aspect he felt a little lost. At first, he rode alongside Vicki as he was training her, but soon realized that she didn’t really need him there. So he began spending his days alternately roaming the city and getting familiar with Jack’s plush apartment. He learned how to cook, and would make dinner for Jack and himself on the nights when Jack had no plans to go out with clients.
Ennis would occasionally accompany Jack to dinners and events with clients and colleagues, where Jack would introduce him as “my partner.” This raised a few eyebrows and elicited questions such as, “You give up on women, Twist? What the hell?” Jack would calmly explain that he was with Ennis now, and then change the subject.
Jack took his time breaking the news to his parents, knowing his father in particular would not take it well. One Sunday evening, after fortifying himself with a glass of whiskey, he called them up. He was relieved when his mother answered.
“Hi, Mom.”
“Jack, how are you?”
“I’m fine…never better, in fact. I just wanted to tell you and, uh, Dad…that I’m in love. His name is Ennis.”
“’His name’? Oh, Jack,” she said, sighing. “Your father is going to have a fit.”
“Do you still love me, Mom?”
“Of course I do. But, are you sure about this, Jack?”
“I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life.”
“Well, then, I’m happy for you,” she said. “Do you want me to tell your father?”
“No…I think I’d better do it. Is he there?”
“Yes. Hold on.” She handed to phone to Mr. Twist, saying, “It’s Jack. He has some news to tell you.”
“Yeah, what is it?” Mr. Twist practically barked into the phone.
“Dad…I, uh, I wanted to tell you that I have someone special in my life now.”
“Yeah, so? You gonna get married or something?”
“No. Not yet, anyway. It’s just, well, he’s a guy. I love a man.”
“Jesus Christ,” Mr. Twist spat. “My only son is a faggot.”
Jack curled his free hand into a fist. ‘Yes, Sir, I guess I am,” he said. “I just wanted to tell you and Mom about Ennis. He’s a great guy, and--”
“I’ve heard enough,” his father said. He passed the phone back to Jack’s mother, who said to Jack, “He just needs some time to get used to the idea.”
“Ennis is a wonderful person,” Jack said. “I hope one day you can meet him.”
“Maybe one day,” his mother replied after a moment.
They discussed other subjects for a few more minutes, before Jack told her he had to go; he was taking a trip to Chicago the next morning and needed to pack. They said good-bye and hung up. Jack sat on the couch and stared at the phone.
Ennis came into the room then. “How’d it go?” he asked. He sat beside Jack and placed a hand on Jack’s knee.
“Well, my mom was surprisingly cool about it,” Jack said. “Of course, my dad wasn’t thrilled, to say the least.”
“I’m sorry.” Ennis gathered Jack in his arms and held him tightly.
“It’s okay. The old man never approved of anything I’ve done in my life; why would this be any different? But, you know what would make me feel better?”
Ennis grinned. “I can guess.”
Jack stood up. “Come on. One last romp in the hay before I have to pack.” As they headed for the bedroom, removing clothes as they went along, Jack said, “I wish you were going with me.”
“Me, too. But I want to start looking for a job tomorrow,” Ennis said.
They tumbled naked onto the bed and grappled together for a few minutes, laughing and snorting, before Ennis hauled Jack up on his hands and knees. Ennis slicked himself up and then plunged his aching cock into Jack’s eager hole.
They moved together like a well-oiled sexual machine, each knowing what the other desired and needed. Ennis’ dick hit Jack’s prostate, making the dark-haired man call out, “Ennis! Oh, yes, yes, YES!”
Ennis reached around and began jerking off his lover in time to his thrusts. “Love you, Jack, love you so fucking much.”
“Ennis…love you, too, baby.”
Sweat-soaked and panting, they reached climax together, words of passion and love falling from their mouths, loud enough for the neighbors to hear.
“Goddamn, Ennis,” Jack said, once he got his breath back, “that was fantastic.”
“You’re fantastic, Jack.”
The next day, Jack left for Chicago. Ennis rode with him to the airport and kissed him goodbye at the apartment. Jack was gone for only two days, but they were the longest two days in Ennis’ life. When Jack came home, he got in the limo to find Ennis sitting in there.
“I thought you were going to wait for me at home.”
“I changed my mind,” Ennis replied.
Jack grinned. He put down the privacy glass and said to Vicki, “Let’s take the scenic route home, shall we?”
“Yes, Sir,” she answered, with a knowing smile.
Jack put the glass back up again. “It’s good to be back home,” he said, climbing onto Ennis’ lap.
“It’s good to have you back,” Ennis said, loosening Jack’s tie and pulling off his jacket.

Picture a limousine, gliding smoothly down a major American highway. In the back are two men, one light and one dark, joining in passion and in love. Ennis and Jack. Bound by fate. Together forever.
