OWOA notes

Dec 18, 2006 01:10

-register ACTF immediately, as in over Thanksgiving break; it literally takes 2 minutes for each show
-email Susan Shaffer at skshaffer@kennedy-center.org to confirm that you will only be billed once for the KCACTF entry fee
-register for the production; entry fee should be $300; don't register for the cheaper one
-RESERVE SPACE IMMEDIATELY THROUGH ROSS; Pigott is Drama-controlled so talk to Ross to reserve
-Ross is a great person to send your tech staff to; lots of good advice and help
-Ross likes seeing people in person; go see him so he knows your face, especially YOURS
-Rope Andrew Reid into helping your LD with lights
-work with spring show producer on tech week and show scheduling conflicts with auditions and callbacks
-hire all positions: it's necessary
-posters: use PSPrint, absolute lowest price (42.9 cents) versus Copy America and PIP Printing ($1); however, weird size 12.75" x 17.25" and at least 14 day turnaround
-"next day hardcopy proof" = "guess when i'm arriving! ....proof?"
-push poster design
-build during dead week is pretty crappy
-talk to Ross early
-leave a fat ass archive pack for your successor
-don't be a spaz
-don't be afraid to contact previous producers

Things to do over break:
-WEBSITE
-e-commerce?!
-approve poster proof
-design program
-print program
-English Dept sponsorship?
-ads?
-finalize scripts
-get set done
-get lights going
-make sure directors have contacted John
-knit
-read "Guns, Germs, & Steel," "Last Chance to Eat"
-bake persimmon recipes
-go shopping
