That's right, it's definitely fall now... the World Series starts tomorrow (Cards in 6) and it's a huge football weekend as usual. My college record stands at 28-5 and my pro record is sky-rocketing (after a 12-1 week) to 63-24. Mizzou has homecoming this weekend, it should be a pretty crazy one, let's hope they win. On to the brilliant insight:
- #24 Missouri over Kansas State... let me put it this way, if they don't win, Gary Pinkell's job may be in trouble and I would have been right all along.
- #13 Georgia over #12 Clemson... Calvin Johnson will some day be gracing the fields of the NFL, until then he'll just dominate the college ranks.
- #5 Texas over #17 Nebraska... please god, Mizzou needs some help. If Nebraska loses this one then the North Division race is back on.
- Pittsburgh over #19 Rutgers... it's gotta end some time, just like it did for Mizzou last week.
- #2 Michigan over Iowa... let's hope the trend of #2s losing ends this week.
For the NFL, it should be quite an interesting week...
- Panthers over Bengals... the Kitty Bowl should be a great game, but I got to stick with my Champs.
- Jets over Lions... I don't know why, maybe because the Jets have shown some backbone this season.
- Packers over Dolphins... this one's for you Q.
- Jaguars over Texans... let's see, um, duh.
- Patriots over Bills... let's see, um, duh.... wait, I already used that one.
- Eagles over Bucs... they're going to want to prove last week was a fluke and that this Eagles team is for real, just like the 4 years that they failed to win the Super Bowl after making the NFC title game.
- Falcons over Steelers... they got to beat up on the Chiefs last week, but I don't think the Steelers are the team they were last year.
- Chargers over Chiefs... Top 5 draft pick, meet the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City Chiefs, this is a top 5 draft pick (please take Calvin Johnson).
- Broncos over Browns... let's see, a defense that's given up like 20 points all year against the Browns, let's just say Charlie Frye better have updated his will.
- Cardinals over Raiders... the smart pick would be to take the Raiders because there is no way the Cards will ever recover from Monday night's loss... but it's the Raiders and picking them is against my religion.
- Seahawks over Vikings... they've been winning without Alexander, so I don't see why they would lose this one.
- Colts over Redskins... yea, no offense dad, but this one is easy.
- Giants over Cowboys... so what if TO scored 3 touchdowns last week? It was the TEXANS... Tiki Barber is going to run wild.
There is it. And to all you Cardinals fans, please exercise extreme caution this week, do not take your frustrations/elations out on us pour Royals fans. (I still can't say it without laughing... "Jeff Suppan, NLCS MVP" is like "Jamie Foxx, academy award winner". Especially because the parallels to pitching for the Royals and carrying the last seasons of "In Living Color" and all of "The Jamie Foxx Show" are numerous.)
