So I'm pretty much making this post...

Hahahaha, I just had to share it with you guys.

I can not tell you how psyched I am about Thanksgiving. I had so much fun last time a few of the old gang got together, I can't wait to be in Tampa. I like to think I do, but I usually don't tell the people who mean the world to me that they do indeed mean the world to me. Lately I've been trying to be better about it but it's more of a work in progress than anything.

Listening to Pavement - Terror Twilight at the moment. It's a little bit too... random, I guess. Some of the songs are fun listeners, but others kind of meander around like they don't know where they're going.

"Hey, do you know where the next lyrics is?"
"No man, I'm from the 3rd refrain, I don't come up for awhile."
"Oh.... guess well just have to make something up."

Yeah.

So I've become addicted to this video game called Left 4 Dead. Ang has probably heard of it, I'm not sure who else who reads this thing has. To put it simply, it's a first person zombie shooter - you take the role of a survivor after a zombie outbreak and you proceed to shoot the crap out of hundreds of zombies to escape.

It's amazing.

Somehow Valve (the development team behind L4D) managed to capture all the awesome in zombie horror flicks and bring it to the video game world. A zombie shooter sounds like a no brainer, but surprisingly it hasn't really been done very much. Sure, there was Resident Evil but that shit is Japanese and I have a very low tolerance for Japanese video games (aside from anything Nintendo based).

Ok sidetrack.

As a video game enthusiast (I say this instead of "obsessed hobbyist") I have played quite a few video games. Hell, I read up on video game blogs and I talk to other video game nerds on the internet about developers and producers and all the kind of shit you movie nerds get into. Japanese games have, like it or not, become largely abhorrent to me. There's this... feel to them that I can't stand. I don't know why either, I can watch some anime without cringing but whenever I attempt to play a Final Fantasy or a Metal Gear Solid I start to roll my eyes and wonder if I can just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.

Woo! Ok I got that off my chest.

To get back on topic Left 4 Dead is an amazing game and you should try it out, or at least look over someone's shoulder while they play it.

I hope the new layout of this journal isn't too rough on the eyes. The old one had very small print and I was getting tired of the strange blue fractals and the funny looking upside down guy - fuck that guy.

See you all soon!
