Susan is my cousin.
She is the person I try hard to be; warm and gentle, quietly loving, steady. She and Joe are all about the little things in life and that's how they raised the kids, including the autistic and cerebral palsy ones they adopted. Their island was high on our list of places to move to, and she was so pleased when I told her that last year and wanted us to come up and stay.
I'm sitting looking at one of Joe's sculptures, a small wooden owl. I'm struggling to find anything to make sense.
I just want to hold on to you all.
