Let's celebrate! My blog is 10 years old
Aww, ten years! It feels like a lifetime. Are any of my old friends still out there, shippers and antis alike? Beta readers, sock puppets, smut seekers, and spammers? Oh, the olden days. Take me back to junior year, fervently writing fanfic on my gen one ipad - in the notes app! God, I thought pre-calc was hard, now I work retail.
I remember the golden days so well. I look back on my own LiveJournal blog every once in awhile like an old dude with a gut staring at his trophy case. Not even thinking just of the fic, which remains some of the work I am most wildly, unabashadley, adoringly proud of in my life. Seriously, the work I put in on the day-to-day, the multiple failed novels, the self-published stuff - they don't come with the satisfaction I felt at 15 finishing anything, ANYTHING! Let alone a ten thousand word story. But thinking of all the friends I made in the Ianthony Community, all their love and kindness and uproarious cheer. This was the most encouraging group of people, truly, and their welcoming and generous spirit changed my life.
Ariel is still one of my dearest friends, I have to text her later! And Desirae, I think of her all the time, and miss her and the potential she had at a beautiful life so much. So many people I followed to Tumblr, then Twitter, so many more I've lost touch with as we've all grown up and apart. I still think of you all and have a warm embrace ready perchance we ever meet. I hope you're all happy, healthy, flourishing, and looking back fondly as you receive your own ten-year badges.
I'll see you ten years down the line, LJ. I'm looking forward to it.
