Okay, so the scavenger hunt calls for hiding the Random Thing in your kitchen, turning the picture upside down, and offering a prize to the first person who finds it... but playing hide and seek with the pine-cone-on-a-stick-in-a-pot-with-feathers is like playing hide and seek with a two-year-old; you kind of just have to pretend you can't see it for a while so it doesn't feel bad or throw a temper tantrum.
"What is that on the window sill?" you might ask. "Could it be baby!Random Things?"
Why yes, yes it could. Lol. Nick made these out of beads and wire a couple years ago. His reason for doing so was along the same lines as his reason for buying the original Random Thing: "Why not?"
